Brilliant analogy!

Especially as regeneration is a complete body overhaul - subsequent incarnations often looking completely different to the previous incarnation. And hey, if it helps someone understand your situation... :D

Of course, although it probably wouldn't happen, there was a clue in The Eleventh Hour that a gender flip regeneration may be possible (unless the Producers hand-wave it away by claiming D11 wasn't thinking straight at the time):

"Legs! I've still got legs! Good. Arms, hands. Ooh, fingers. Lots of fingers. Ears? Yes. Eyes: two. Nose... eh, I've had worse. Chin - blimey! Hair... I'm a girl! No! No! I'm not a girl! And still not ginger! There's something else. Something... important, I'm... I'm—I'm... Ha ha! Crashing! Geronimo!"

It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if someone's written a fanfic where D11 regenerates into a ginger girl... :D

As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!

Also in The Doctors Wife

Hi mittfh,

no chance of the producers denying it, they have pretty much confirmed the gender flip regeneration as fact, because in the episode "The Doctors Wife", the Doctor refers to another Time Lord known as the Corsair as having had a specific tattoo in all of his regenerations even once as a woman, and the quote escapes me but theres some reference of her being a party animal as a girl lol.
