Some may have noted I am largely absent of late. There's reasons for that, but mostly stuff I have no wish to toss out there for some vague self aggrandisement.
I log in intermittently, read the odd thing and comment very seldom, which is partly my state of mind and real world crap and partly a comment on the state of play. I suspect many will neither know nor care where I am coming from which is perfectly fine, I don't expect anything else.
Anyway the reason for this entry is that I logged in the other day and noted somewhat bemusedly that my button count had jumped. This was odd as I had recently had a whole lot expire, sort of like those little furry critters as cyber pets or something that died if you didn't feed them. So I had only one thing to make of this. Someone had read some stuff I had posted and decided that a donation of buttons was a worthy response.
I don't really get the buttons thing just yet. Does anyone?? But the simple fact that someone chose to donate to my number of them as a gesture after reading whatever they read is a mark of respect. So to whomever it was, thank you. The void hasn't got me yet if someone does something like that.

Buttons
As of yet, buttons do nothing. This is due to many factors including "outside life" sneaking up on both Erin and I and biting us in the arse.
Just another general FYI, we WILL release more information bout Buttons when the Button system is ready to go live.

Kristina, you are missed
You write some of the gritiest, reallife feeling tales here. And make worthwhile comments.
Hope RL improves and we hear more from you.

P.S. I wish I remembered the name. You wrote a tale a few years back about a MtF woman on a motorcycle trip. She breaks down on an island(?) and a mechanic fixes her bike as they fall in love.
Very romantic.
Plus you set a scene better than just about anybody here. I can practically smell the dust of the Outback, the shrimp on the barby.
-- grin --
That was silly but I do think you set the atmosphere of your tales wonderfully
P.P.S. An an early short tale about a MtF living alone who gets a visit from her estranged brother begging her to visit her dying father -- the man most responcible for her being estranged from the family -- was a true tearjearker in the best way.

Indeed
One of my favourite writers here.

"Things Just Happen"
Excellent tale; as are all of Kristina's

Buttons? - I never knew about them
But sure enough, there're a bunch in my account. We shall see.

I think the buttons mate and multiply
... and if they don't, they should.
Nice to see you stop in and wave. Hope you're writing again soon!

It Wasn't Me, Mum!
I didn't give you no buttons, honest!
I saw Piper's comment that they haven't worked out what to do with them yet. They come and go on their own whim. Maybe they are the first genuine AI. A few weeks ago I had 600+ and then they started going walkabout and got down to less than 100. Now they've decided they like me again and I'm up to 400+, all with no deliberate intervention on my part. However, their peripatetic nature is not something that is keeping me awake at nights.
We do miss you here, Kris. Really good writers are always missed,
