I had the opportunity of sharing lunch last month with Erin. One of the things we talked about is:

Is there any interest in a get together in the Southern California area for a potluck?? Erin and I were at one in the San Francisco Bay area last fall. It was a LOT of fun.

And even more fun?? Meeting with others who think the way you do, or who write/read the same genre of fiction!!

Come One, Come all!!!

If you're interested, let me know. We're probably looking at something the end of the Summer.

Hugs and Blessings,

Beth

A new convention, complete with heat and humidity?

Come to San Diego for the

First Annual Southwestern Dis-Comfort Conference

Seriously, I'd love to but I'd need both a note from my wife and a release from the Orthopedic Ward shortly thereafter! Mrs. D. would love to visit SoCal, but I imagine it would be on the condition that the only dressing we might see would be on the Cob Salad at a completely different hotel. Oh well!

Seriously, I'd love to come; it would be a 'kick and a half,' as my buddy Randy used to say. Perhaps in another decade or so?

I wanna come!

OK, here's the deal. My Corolla has 145000 miles on it and has a clack. I might get that looked at, or not. I may fly and rent a car. I like flying about as much as I like raking buggers out of my nose with a thistle, and while I may be a pain slut, flying just don't do it for me. Of course after talking like that, maybe you don't want me coming.

Gwen

as for you Toyota with 145000 miles don't worry put some Lucas oil treatment in it every time you change oil it should help with the clack that's the easiest way to help that and my last Toyota had over 300,000 miles before it had any major problems.
my point is don't put off what could be done to day or to have fun but that's my opinion i think it would be blast as for me there is no way for me to go as i am on a limited budget for the rest of my life and i cant go to the states without losing my disability which kind of sucks. in think anyone who can make it should go.

I would, but

A trip to So Cal would get expensive for me. I don't fly. I would have to rent a car, or take a train and if I enter the state, and should my mother find out, I would have to go visit them (Oroville for those who recall my last blog) and that's more miles, plus the whole dealing with the family. That and I really got to get me a job here shortly.

But if a meet happens in the Midwest, like Chicago or something, I would consider that

Oh Well

Gosh, I don't think there's too many people who think like me. Doing so is against the Geneva Convention.

For those who do make it, have fun and don't do anything I would.

I could come

But I have no idea if I can get enough motivation. Talking to a bunch people I've only read about, not met or even talked to by phone seems a little scary, but I would probably be fine in a few minutes, as long as someone large doesn't start being all outgoing on me and invade my personal space, etc. I'd be OK if I thought she was attractive or cool, but that thought could change in a minute.

It's only 6 hours away, if I drive 70-75mph, I don't drive that fast anymore, but that's only a half hour difference at most. We have 2 cars that run, but Kim hasn't bothered to get hers inspected since it failed twice. She hopped up our 87 mustang GT maybe giving it 50-70 more horse power, but she has more things that she can adjust, like fuel pressure and a few other, usually not adjustable things. She's just unmotivated and tired much of the time when not with her horses, and now she has chickens, too. We only need one car anyway.

Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee

Since you came here

I guess I should return the favor, tongue in cheek, actually it was fun meeting the group. Keep me informed and I'll see if I can get free. The drive from SF to LA is no big thing as I do it maybe seven or eight times a year. It would be nice to see Erin and the group again, Arecee
