Just wondering if the hit counter is acurate at the moment.
Total hits on Football Girl~Season 2~Chapter 21 is standing at 360 and the number of kudos is 89; that is 24.7% of the hits. That is wildly out of proportion ot my previous chapters.
Any thoughts

If I had to guess you have
If I had to guess you have some very faithful readers who are registered on this site and only few who are not registered and just follow the story.
i have wondered that for a while
There have been times that a story is posted and not even half an hour later it's at well over 600 or even 1000 hits. So I've wondered about the counter too but I just figure its my bad eyes playing tricks on me.
Total hits
Maybe Erin knows

Total Hits
Back in college I would lose count after a dozen or so hits. Hehehehehehehehhe. Then I would eat a pan of brownies.

I'm Still Dealing With...
...the excess weight I put on!
As a serial writer I can say
if it's been awhile between chapters it dramatically increases the reads and hits that you get when you come out with a new chapter of something.
That said you have to have a quality product that people like to start with. I actually like your series quite a bit am always glad to see a chapter.

I get some funny numbers sometimes
I'll get fewer hits, but more kudos sometimes. I just assumed that the readers who really like the story are making the kudos numbers. You can't please everyone and I realize that I'll lose readers as time goes by. I hope to pick up a few as go on, but what's important is that the readers who do like my story still find it enjoyable, and they show it. Thanks, y'all.

I Raised A Similar Query
A few weeks ago I asked a similar question when my latest mistresspiece seemed to have failed dismally to excite the BC audience. My hit numbers were about one third of the previous few efforts.
Was it me? Had I produced a lemon? (Don't answer that)
Erin came back with an explanation that the modifications to the website had resulted in a reduction in the recognition of hits from guest readers but that we could see that the number of kudoes remained close to what they had previously been, so kudoes were now a better way to judge the popularity of a story.
Being anal-retentive I took the time to check this and found that ever-popular perennials like Angharad and yourself had indeed suffered an apparent loss of hits on recent episodes but were still reaping the same crop of kudoes.
So there is your explanation, and we all still love Football Girl,
