Not pining for the fjords ...

I don't have an ex-muse either.

The black dog -- a *huge* Black Dog -- that took up residence a few years ago is shrinking a bit. The critter's not gone, but things are less overwhelming.

My writing time is limited, for now. I'm working ~12 hour days at a job involving flight safety ( a.k.a. BAD THINGS can happen if it isn't right.)

Being more functional, I'm slowly working on Amazon again. I don't have as much time as I'd like, but I'm slowly reworking a significant scene to try to be both effective and consistent with USMC boot camp reality (as much as possible, anyway), and I'm spending what time I can researching.

Ma'at - pretty much stalled. Though I have an 'alternate history' storyline -- I think would be intriguing.

Other ideas: An historical story suitable for Halloween; A follow-up to "Twelve Days of Christmas" -- does Matt survive Maggie's reaction? Another story that's a bit of wish fulfillment: "See Me".

Maureen (my muse) is tucking ideas away for future use.

Now if I can just get more than 5 hours of sleep ...

Glad to see you again.

Even if it is kind of limited. Having worked in the airline business I can well understand how intense, and stressful, your job can be, especially with those kind of hours.

I used to be a dispatcher for a small airline and that was hard enough to do.

Good luck with all you have planned, but most importantly, welcome back.

Maggie

Thanks, Maggie

I appreciate the thought.

I enjoy the challenge of this job; my 'background processors' just seem to keep churning away all night, and it makes for a not-very-restful evening.

A Fjoid By Any Other Name Still Smells as Sweet

If you wan to enjoy a beautiful fjord go to New York's Hudson River Canyon. From NYC to Albany, it is the world's most Equatorial Fjord. Some of the trees on the canyon walls are seven hundred years old.

Also, don't burn out with so much work.

Fjord

Ain't nobody got fjords like Norway's got fjords! :-D

Oh yes!

In my youth, I lived in the general area of Albany, NY.

I still think it one of the most beautiful areas of the country.

Even when it got down to -40F. (Brrrrr!)
