There were two articles of interest to this community in my local paper, The Ft. Laudrdale Sun-Sentinel, today.

The first, concerns how some Gynecologists are becoming more Transgender friendly is positive. The other about the new television show "Work It" is positive only in the sense that the reviewer pans the show, otherwise ABC should be chastised for showing it. It appears there is a betting line on how quickly it will be cancelled.

The links are below.

Work It

That was discussed at length a little while ago. Another here who did not like the original promo, and so would be unlikely to watch it if it were to be shown here.

The first link, though, that I do like! As has been mentioned here before, many transwomen suffer the double risk of mammary and prostate cancers. The humiliation potentially faced by someone presenting as one sex while physically another, at least down there, is a much more common issue and I am glad to see some forward movement in at least one place.

I Thought of Seeing an OB-GYN

Maybe ten years ago. I had some between-the-legs issues from a botched labiaplasty. I always have some kind of PCP, always an MD at least, from my medicare HMO. I gave up on a GYN, because there was a 6 to 8 month wait for appointments. I figured that a family practice Dr. could handle my problems well enough. I also thought that if GYNs/appointments with them, were so scarce, I shouldn't take up that valuable time, I should leave it to GGs and (now that I think of it,) F2Ms who need it more, as in the above article.
