A Silly Little Ditty

Recently, I've been reading lots of Maddy Bell's Gaby series. Having been born and raised in the US, there were a few words that kinda went over my head. This blog entry is about a neat resource I found and a silly ditty I made up using a couple of my newfound words. ^.~

Being a bit of a logophile, I went out searching online for some help and came across a really fun page called The English to American Dictionary. I realize I'm prolly one of the few people who'd read a dictionary for the fun of it, but this ain't like that ... honest! Even though the definitions explain what things mean, there's also lotsa commentary that had me giggling.

But the dictionary isn't what I'd originally planned on telling about in this blog entry. What I originally planned on sharing is a little ditty I'd made up to help me sort out two words that have very different meanings, but seemed an awful alike to me. Anyways, here's the ditty.

Do You Chuff When You're Chuffed

Do you chuff when you're chuffed?
Do you chuff when you're chuffed?
When you get excited, do you break a fluffy puff?
Do you chuff when you're chuffed?

*curtseying, then running offstage before everyone realizes what the song was about and starts throwing rotten tomatoes*
