is there a way to bring a story from Microsoft word file to big closet without retyping it? this is a short Christmas story.

Just copy and paste
it's all I do, providing it's not too big for notepad or whatever MS call their programme.
Click on 'Add a story' and read the instructions - if I can do it, you'll probably find it easy.

if you don't want any fancy formatting...
It really is that easy. For any additional formatting, you can do that after you've pasted it.
Please note, the more recent versions of Word default to a spacing that doesn't copy over to BCTS very well. You ought consider changing your line spacing style to "No spacing" and then changing your document to look how you want it to before copying it to the browser.

I have to change my spacing each time. No big deal.
easy way
open window with your story hit ctrl + a on keyboard this selects all text. Next hit Ctrl + C to copy the page.
tab to your add a story page go to the box second from bottom and click once in that area. Then hit Crtl + V which will paste it all.

Simple
1. Open your Word file in another window.
2. Go to "Edit" on top of window and open.
3. Slide down to "Select All" and left click mouse.
4. Put cursor in selected text and right click mouse .
5. Slide down to "Copy."
6. Left click mouse.
7. In BC/TS window go to your name, then "Create content" then "Fiction" then "Body" . DO NOT CLOSE STORY IN "WORD."
8. Right click mouse.
9. Slide down to "Paste" Let go.
10. Wait for all of story to appear.
11. Check to make sure story is complete.
12. If correct you may now close story in "WORD" window.
Simple
Note: If there is no "Paste" or it does not work, repeat 1-6 and go to "Body" in 7 then do 8-12. Eventually you will get it right.

I don't know if that is exactly what you plan to do, but some people gave me advice that might help you too.

Which I don't recommend, by the way...
1. Using Word, print out your story.
2. Put each page on a wooden table and photograph it.
3. Scan the photograph back in and use an OCR program to decipher it.
4. Use Notepad to fix up the goofs.
5. Post!
Simple, eh?
I believe there might have been an intermediate stage using a Fax machine, and possibly a motorbike journey with a floppy disk, but it was a long time ago.
