I've written a new story, a short one less than 7,500 words. 24 hours have passed. Not one single comment.

Why do I bother writing?

Comments

Honestly?

If you really want to know why nobody has commented I can't say; but I can tell you why I didn't read it. I never was a fan of Hawaii 50. I have no idea what the Altered Fates stories are about, and there is no other detail in your synopsis that would make me want to look at it. In short, you didn't sell your story to me.

I'm sorry, it may be a fine story, but . . .

I have loved all of your

I have loved all of your stories Danielle, and this one is no exception. Even though I never watched Hawaii Five-O at any time (I assume I am a little too young for the series). But that is why I know I didn't comment on it. But I do read all of your stories and like them all.

Danielle

today has been slow and BC has been down several times today on various hubs. give it some time please.
Im usually busy editing or chatting with peeps directly rather than comment but I shall do so as soo nas I read your story. Don't panic.

Motivation

Don't write for the comments; write because you have something to say. Whether anyone reads it should be secondary.
Your audience will find you. Me, I just get a kick out of seeing the number of people that have read something.

Ditto

Danielle,

The main person you need to please when you write is yourself. If I was writing for comments then my "Victor and the Witch" would never have been written. I also wouldn't have put the warning at the begining either. You are an excellent author. If you write putting all your heart, all your soul and all your resourses (paraphraising Deut 6:5-6) into the story they will read it.

So, we're lazy? I know I am.

I read it today.

It's been ages since I've seen a Hawaii Five O and I was not a big fan of the show though they sure picked a great song for the theme. From what I can remember it fits the tone of the old show well.

The medal of Zulo did much as expected, punished the guilty and the foolish though rather harshly. But then it has a habit of that. The men could have used it to cure the boy, give the man and his wife a child and to free the vet from his addiction but I guess once blood was spilled it was too late. I love it, the one the police managed to kill had an unloaded gun. The multiple muderer and the dying boys dad got prison as women. No one gained from the magic and now the FuMancu like Five-O recuring villian may get his hands on it. Lets hope he accidently touches a piece of infant girl's clothing.

Do write because you like to write, writing for comments is an exercise in fustration The public is fickle, for one. The number of people who comment is low, though I find their comments helpful when they do. I encourage commens but I don't live for them.

I hope your health remains such you can still continue to write and enjoy your family, Danielle.
