Gaby Book 9 - More Changes part 1
Cool, should I wait until part 2 is done?

The good news
is that i'm hoping to get the whole book out in reasonably short order, certainly in time for Christmas - if you can wait that long.

Thanks
Kim

Lulu seem to have dropped that option for new stuff. The one on offer should open okay on most platforms. If you have serious problems get back to me

As far as I understand their explanation you should have the option to deselect the DRM protection (which would remove the "for Adobe Digital Editions" which only exists for Windows and Macintosh). Then the PDF would be readable everywhere.
Martina
as
that is effectively the copyright protection that isn't an option!

Since the Kindle doesn't use Adobe Digital Editions
and the Kindle is, by far, the most popular ebook reader, have you considered submitting your book to Amazon's Kindle store? From what I've read, they do not charge you to create the book like Lulu does. They just take a cut of the sale price for each copy sold.
Also, for Lulu's ebook format, have you consider using the ePub formatted eBook option on the Lulu site instead of, or in addition to, the PDF option?
The difference is the epub format allows the reader to control the size of the text on their ebook reader, great for those of us with poor eyesight. The PDF fomat is more like a printed book, in that it specifies the layout on a page. So, the reader cannot resize the text gracefully.
Oh, and when will you begin posting Book 8 to your website?

If i ever get the time i possibly will look at the Amazon option - I don't pay Lulu anything for publication, as you would expect their cut is from the sale price - i don't get anything like the price you may pay! I'm certainly not doing it to get rich!
As for the epub option at Lulu - i've tried and tried to do this but the site always mucks up the page sizing and so on. My experience with PDF is that you can alter the sizing ad nauseum without losing formatting. (Lulu have a programme of converting everything in their database to epub, some of my older stuff has already been done so its worth scanning through the Scaramouch catalogue!)
Book 8 - the first free edition will be in about a month by which time i'm hoping to have Book 9 in the can, only another 30,000 words to go!
If i can get something better sorted i will, never fear.
