Needs voice work.

I spent about $600 for 6 sessions with a speech pathologist, and it did not seem to do much, but I kept working on it after the money ran out, and in about a year I realised that something had happened to my voice. It is hard work, but I think it is the single most valuable thing a T girl can do. Some may require a little surgery, and I'd put that ahead of SRS.

I proudly wave the flag for that issue also

... or is that hobby horsing it :P

Seriously though, it is beyond important as I recently was waiting behind two women at Target and I look up to my amazement two women who needed shaves - serious shaves for one and maybe a light shave for the other. The first one had enough to make a very nice goatee, a little more than what I had before electrolysis.

So why were they not sirred? Their voices. Presentation was okay too but voice cinches it. I good voice will overcome a bunch of issues. OTOH I have met transgirls who are okay ( or they rationalize ) it being okay about their voices though I doubt they would turn down a pill that would change it if there was one, with them being mistaken by people who have not seen them in person.

Sadly it does lead to a sad stereotype that movies will latch onto of a pretty girl with either a deep voice or a voice of a homosexual man instead of a typical woman. I would venture they would probably prefer an actor who does not have their voice training together to emphasize the trans aspects of the T-girls.

I really wish there was a way to make it easier to erase this stereotype.

BTW, I am not sanguine about voice surgery and will respectfully disagree with Gwen on that issue.
