Hi!
Michelle Wilder here.
I've written occasional stories through the years, often with TG theme and content (subjectively, at least) and would like advice, help, and all that, as I think I'd like to contribute some of them. I admire the work of many of the authors here at BC, and can think of no better feedback than from them or their readers.
I'm a pretty good copy editor (newspapers) so I'd be glad to reciprocate your help.
Sincerely,
Michelle

P.S. It's not self-evident how to post in this site...

Posting

Welcome Michelle -

Posting your story is quite simple. At the top of the page you will find a +fiction button. That will take you to the submission page. It really is quite intuitive from there.

Editing your story can be done at anytime after you post. You will find this site to be the simple and author friendly.

I would be happy to look at anything you want to post. Send me a PM. Let me know how many words and give me a short synopsis.

Hi Michelle,
My approach is;: :)

Log in, find create content in upper left (on my screen), click on, go to publishing options page. Choose "Fiction" if you want folks like me to able to hassle you, I mean comment, or "Story with no comment". Goes to form to fill out. To add multiple entries in a drop down selection box use Ctrl+ rt mouse click. Eventually, get to *Body* at the bottom of the form.

At this point you may paste in your text, type in your text, or upload a linkable file in an application like Word or Acrobat. Personally, I do the latter.

You find these options beneath the *Body* box in blue. Click on one it takes you to a directory structure, you may browse your drive for the file and then upload it. (self-evident once there. Once uploaded click add and the appropriate html gets dropped in the body box. Very cool and slick. You may do the same for an image file if you plan to have one appear in the synopsis. Once uploaded, choose "add" and it too drops into the body box.

You may need to finagle the code a little to get what you want with the image. Place the synopsis text in the body before the file link or image html and preview.

If you are typing in or pasting in text, there may be issues that I have not addressed here. For example, I am not sure how you handle the title page synopsis if you paste in text, there may be a synopsis box then too? Certainly others will add to this.

Erin has always been very generous with her time in helping me and I am sure she will be with you. Good luck but feel free to write if I merely confused you.
