Interesting start, very promising

It took a while then it was obvious to me this is another *season* of your *seasons* theamed series. We have Winter and Spring. I am guessing Duty and Destiny is Summer? or at least fits in somepoint after *Spring*. Daughter of the Moon is *Fall* and hints at a prequil story, the story of how the vile god king eliminaated all but the last two silver cup barers.

These are not the same cups as in the *Fall* story with the elven race/the human war photographer's soul in the cup maiden's body who strip the god king of his divinity I take it?.

Look forward to more.

Hello Armond,

Well you’ve done it to me again, you had me at the first sentence and then pulled me in so fast and so deep that before I realized it I was totally immersed in another one of your fabulous tales and couldn’t stop reading until I came to a screeching halt at the last word. To me a great story is defined as one in which no matter how many times you read it,even with knowing where it’s going and how it will end the journey is always just as magical and fulfilling as the first read. You my friend have captured that magic and grace us with it every time you put pen to pad, your latest work Dagda’s Daughter is just such a gem. I couldn’t wait for the next line to reveal more of this awesome story as I inhaled each new word roaring along at breakneck speed until crashing to a halt at the current end. Please I implore you to give us more of your latest masterpiece and don’t leave us cast adrift like the Summerland Path (hint, hint, hint).

Hey Talonx! Great to hear from you! The Dagda's Daughter is coming along well. Should have first draft complete in a week, then editing begins. In the meantime, I've cleaning up Silver Apples and will post here in a couple of days.

A life worth living

I just read "a life worth living" on your googlesite. I wonder whether that story uses the same universe as moon harper...

Because "a life worh living" just cries for a sequel. That story really upset me btw. That someone would abandon his/her soulmate for power is really sad. I wondered if the masked stranger might be the king, but I doubt that "he" would have the guts to face the person "he" abandoned.

If that had happened to me, I'd probably spend the rest of my life plotting and executing revenge. I guess "she" got over it sometime, but that kind of betrayal shouldn't stay unpunished. Damn, I want a sequel!

Armond, you just have the awesome gift to write stories that actually touch my feelings. Thank you for writing :D

I think I found a script for comments that would be easily usable. It costs 25$ though. http://www.hotscripts.com/listing/tnt-comments-script/

Pretty much the same for free is done by http://www.hotscripts.com/listing/animus-comments/ They have an explanation in their downloadable file for how to install it. I don't know how understandable this is, because I only had some html programming at school and never really set up a website, but maybe you can use it.

Another script for a html based website is this http://www.hotscripts.com/listing/htmlstatic-website-comment... but it costs 20 Dollars again.

TalkBack might be the best though... http://www.scripts.oldguy.us/talkback/ They have a great User Guide and it is free.

Btw... I posted something two times at your comments section, but I guess it just got deleted. It is about your summerland path story. The evil german doctor (female) is called Herr Doktor, but Herr is a male title in german. You could compare it to Sir in english. The correct "title" would be Frau Doktor.

YIKES!

PLOT SPOILERS!!!

THAT was a hell of a cliff hanger.

First we learn a very tantalizing hint about his, um her, well his at the time, childhood. He, well she now really is the child of the ... AND she, um he, um, well the spirit/soul that was he IS the prophesied nemesis of the Formans.

HE had the magical abilities of the teenage Danu girl's body she is in as a very young male child. VERY odd that. And, he, um she is convinced that she is a she, at least as other see her, or at least the harp has convinced everyone of it.

And now another attack despite her and her harp breaking nearly all of the nasty tattoo's enchantments and replacing it with a goddess mark.

A last desperate attack by her enemies OR a trap she and her harp have set up to stop them cold?
VERY busy passage.

Darn it you did it to me again

Now I have another story that I check daily, and I am still looking to see what is happening to a certain boy turned Djinna. Moon Harper most definitely has my attention.

between your web site and the *finished* product here we get an insite into how you write.

So the harp and her have a limitation? If you can call the potential to kill everyone, friend or foe within a certain radius a limitation.

But then using a nuke to swat a fly would be overkill. Hum, what other magics can she use/do? Something more *precison*? Boy oh boy the Formoans are pulling out all the stops trying to kill her and prevent the prophesy. And who is coming to the rescue ?....

And we still need to get back to the girl in his, well her old body. Sean/Shauna is sooo confusing. And his/her harp is not being completely forthcoming. But then string instruments are wound tight.

Lets say the next posting will not be a quiet, expository bit. Well, we do learn a lot and we look poised to learn more but quiet it ain't.

this is not! However, we still can't look away. More like seeing a skilled performance art painter at work just throwing random lines on the canvas that suddenly becomes a recognizable and beautiful picture. Besides considering how much I love your work, it's kool to see the story take shape and then gain that layer of polish that completes it.

After I finish Moon Harper, I'm going to finish Djinna Nights next, thouogh I'll probably do a couple of installments of Duty and Destiny. I think I need a better name for that series, btw. Any suggestions?

... but we all know this is a nearly a no win situation for Sean/Shauna. Personally if I were the Fomors, I would give up on the idea of attacking and basically ask for mercy. The Boston Sanctuary folks were clearly just as fearful of her and would resent her.

So I would expect both the Fomors and those Danaan traitors to both come to try to get rid of her.

Armond, I truly enjoyed Every bit of the story. I do have a few editorial comments for you although I hope you don't get perturbed at me for them.
1. Mavau mutated to Mauve and Favre (which I did snicker at as I live in Minnesota...)
2. Changing the timeline from a two week span to one starting on the 22nd to Samhain helped with the emotional loading of a "short term" switch for Shauna but the story still has various points when she reflects on it still being two weeks and having only another 168 hours or one week left to go so the story needs some tweaking to reflect the changes.
3. One misuse of a homonym is reign versus rein. One reins in one's horse or aspect while a Monarch reigns over her subjects. I realize that it is a small one but it does niggle at me lol.
4. I assume that both Roth and the Prince-Elector are both left to stew in their own worries of a pissed off goddess rather than said Goddess actually taking revenge which is perhaps more effective in the long run?
5. Please tell me there will be more stories with Shauna and Óine?

As you saw,the rough final is up on my site. Since I'm now proofing to post the final version here, your comments are great and much appreciated.

I do need to clean up the time line and also make sure the Fomor mage is Farve throughout (heh).

One of the really fun things about writing is when the unexpected happens. I never expected Shauna's harp to become a character, but she sprang to life and insisted on her time. A followup story with Aine and Shauna would be fun.

loose ends?

“Yes, I’m not thrilled about the ‘shoot her on sight’ relationship we’ve had so far, but I understand it. You thought I meant your people harm. And you’ve been honest about it at least, except for what Roth did.” I was still enraged at what that creep had done to poor Darcy.

Favre grinned, and said, “But Roth is not Fomorian. He bumped into you at a nearby local establishment it seems, and saw your resemblance to the description Cethlenn gave in her oracle convulsions. Our mages spent centuries developing a corruption spell to infect the Daughter of Dagda; Roth offered his services -for a fee- to seduce you and implant it.”
... What I wanted was more information on Roth. “If he wasn’t Fomorian, how did he know of the prophecy?”

“Why, some Danaans study our history, just as we study yours.”

“Wait! He’s Danaan?”

“Oh yes! And nephew to Prince-elector Donohue himself.” ... “Do me a favor, mage; tell Prince-elector Donohue and his slimy nephew that this goddess is pissed off. You tell 'em I'm comin’ ... and Hell's coming with me! ... Favre bowed. “I shall convey your greeting with pleasure.”

I really wanted to see or at least know the resolution of that, hmmm, promise. Wonderful story although there are a few loose ends here and there such as Ryan, and how everyone dealt with the aftermath.

Interesting, *magical* ending to the draft version

That she could see their souls -- even before getting her full powers released by grandmother -- told Shauna that Darcy as Sean and Susan were soul mates.

Still she should have offered Darcy her old memories and even her body. She is losing HER birthright, years of her youth and her sex though for a glorious union. Is there not some way our new goddess can help them have it all? Darcy was a fine young woman and happy until her corruption and she long time friend missed her dearly. What of her? As to Shauna and her *foursome* WHOO HOO!. The harp is a saucy little vixen. Um harps can be vixens, right?

But would telling them hurt them unless she did the memory wipe whammy on them? Mind you she could likely do it with real finesse so as to preserve as much of the person that once was.

Or was Darcy always a male soul, even destined to be one but then why was she a happy girl until corrupted.... AHHHHH! this is so hard to figure out. Second guessing a goddess, even new one, is hard.

Still think the Boston bozos need a serious lesson in honor, humility, REAL magic. Shauna's duty to restore magic and wonder, find commonality between Formor, Danu and human, does not preclude, if she wants to, some payback. By nature she prefers not to kill but to make the most offending Danu and Formors into magic less humans and maybe switch their sex? That would be most cruel as many here have told most poignantly.

And as a lifelong Wisconsinite and something of a Green Bay Packers fan I vote for Farve.

P.S. So the Summerland is but a fraction of the 10000 realms/universe she now has access to?

I see now how omnipresence is a big boon as a god/goddess. Commuting to work otherwise would be a bitch!

P.P.S. Solution to the Darcy/Sean probelm. Restore Darcy's menories along with the borrowed ones in Sean's old body so she can keep her soulmate Sarah yet remeber who she was or just leaver her as she is Sean if it must be for their love. BUT in any case use the bastard nephew of the Boston Danauu's corrupt high oficial to creat a full, complete Darcy as a girl clone, soul and all as if she had never been corrupted, IE her sweetness and inicence restored/intact. Thus the backstabber/betrayers punishment would include knowing his nephew is forever no more due to that which he set in motion and yet he the bastard lives on but as a powerless human and so on.

A mean widdle kid ain't I?

I don't think that would be probable that Shauna will go there and kill someone else soul to make a copy of someone elses. I've got to agree with you though... In the end it was very confusing...
