Who's getting married?
Mawwiage
William, Duke of Cambridge, eldest son of Charles and Diana
marrying Catherine (Kate) Middleton -- a non-noble, by the way -- in probably the most modern of royal weddings ever.

Oh sorry, wrong comment thread. Nevermind.
We now return to our regular programming:

This is why god invented recording devices you can run your tv source through and...
Dayna.
ps. mine is fully armed and read to record the whole thing.
Also...
If you miss it on the television, a certain video sharing site will be streaming the entire event, will be repeating it immediately afterwards, then will keep it as a 'view on demand' video. Their site is adorned with an appropriate doodle, as is their parent company. Yahoo! has an animated doodle, while Bing makes do with a photograph of one of the promotional flags being waved outside Buckingham Palace.
There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't...
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
I missed it...
...because I deliberately didn't turn on the television.
That dress
was absolutely amazing and she looked divine. Congrats to the young couple, may they have happiness and a little privacy in their goldfish bowl.

Saw a bit of the end...
Hey we're 6 hours behind London in Wauwatosa.
Tasteful gown.
I hope this couple have a better time of it than some other royals of late.
Oh, it was reported the dress maker though a less know designer has done dresses for Camilla's niece, Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton, Gwenyth Paltro and ... Lady Gaga.
Lucky thing it wasn't a bubble wedding dress... or a meat one.

Party on English dudes and dudettes!

English dudes?
By all accounts, there appear to be more Americans in London than Brits!
Still, just watched it, was quite tasteful and the weather held up. I got to inspect lots of decent 'occasion' clothing and critique all the silly hats! I even noticed one or two non-females in the crowds wearing frocks ;)
It's one of the few things that Britain appears to do well. I know some grumpy people carp on about the cost but who cares? For once we were all united and the crowds behaved themselves. I wonder when the next one will be?

I agree Ang
Oh and Pippa hon, you looked absolutely spectacular.

pure fun
I heard mention of this on the radio earlier and had to have a look. An Abbey Verger comes dancing up the steps with the bells pealing and trots down the red carpet and then produces a couple of admittedly less than brilliantly gymnastic cartwheels. But I defy you not have a big smile at this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtA6xKusq5M

Re-broadcasts on TLC
I've just watched most of the ceremony (re-broadcast) on TLCHD. It looks like TLC & TLCHD will re-broadcast the service again at 7:00 PM & 10:00 PM CDT tonight. Check your local listings to be sure. I agree with Angharad; the bride's dress (and the bride) is gorgeous. There are also many interesting hats.
We knocked off ...
... 60 miles on the tandem in the Peak instead of watching on our non-existent TV. We thought it would be very quiet but were surprised how many people had the same idea as we did. Weather was OK - it stayed dry and was almost warm when the sun came out but there was a chilly NE wind.
I'm paying the price. I've dome something to my back. It was agony climbing up the stonking hill in our village. Perhaps there is a god and I'm being punished for my lack of patriotism and not tugging the forelock.
So as not to appear too curmudgeonly I'll add that I think they're lovely couple and I hope their marriage is as successful as our 44 year stint. Just don't expect me to wave a Union Flag. Saw one or two of them flown upside down today :) I love spotting them.

Non-girly
This is where I realise that I am not THAT gitly. I am sitting typing this in a long cotton skirt and a scoop-mecked half-sleeved top, because they are bloody comfy as well as being as feminine as I need. In the meantime, my interest in whatever meringue Kate was wearing is, well, not that great. Now, I think of myself as a pretty ordinary woman (all things considered...) but I just never found myself getting all fizzy over heels and frills.
Ssshhh. Don't tell my quack. They'll take my licence away....
For Me, It's the Romance
It's not every day that a regular girl marries her somewhat handsome prince (especially with all the pageantry). The hats aren't something you see every day either (Princess Beatrice pretty much won the most outrageous hat prize http://www.patriotledger.com/features/x729225728/A-royal-wed...).
I'll likely watch the re-broadcast tonight if there's not a NASCAR race on (I'm not all that girly either).
Update: More and better hat pics: http://www.thedailybeast.com/galleries/2853/1/
Yes it most definitely is romantic
From the way they carried on, they clearly know, and are comfortable with each other, borne out of long association and I suspect intimacy. I doubt Kate was a virgin at the altar but who cares.
This is in contrast to Diana's wedding where everything had that stagey feeling to hide the 'you are put together to breed' thing.
Yes, William is not the most handsome; hair loss does not help. But he seems balanced and very caring and certainly has that boyish charm. A girl certainly can do far, far, far worse. Frankly Prince Charles is positively a dog by comparison.
Considering the available market of Princes are pretty thin, hey, beggars can't be choosers :D.

IMHO...
You seem to be about as far from a git as I can imagine (and I have met far too many gits in my life).
Actually I do wonder about traditional wedding dresses: they seem almost fetishistic to me. I have seen much more desirable bridal clothes at weddings where the bride eschewed the 'meringue' convention, and simply wore something elegant and smart.
