Don't worry; I'm not rewriting it! At least, not yet anyway, but when I saw the beautiful cover art Piper's created for it, it did make me want to go back and do some rewriting, to bring it up to par with the new image.
So without further ado, and with the greatest of thanks to Ms. Piper, I present Book One's new title image!
The lei is representative of the luau which really represents everything Robin's story stands for - she went from being a scared little girl trapped in the wrong body to being a strong, spirited young woman who stood up for a complete stranger because it was the right thing to do. :-D
Thank you again Piper/KAF/PT! *giggle*

I would love to get a copy! Piper's artwork is beautiful!

Oh, I wish ^_^
I would love to see my work published someday, but I've been told repeatedly by publishers and writers alike, that self-publishing is a minefield that only a handful successfully navigate.
Someday I would love to take what I've learned (Book One was my very first completed story in ten years), polish it, and try to find a publisher who's willing to take a chance on an "unknown" author in a dicey subject matter (Teen/Young Adult TG/LGB fiction).
If that ever happens though, I'll find some way to get everyone who's also a member of TopShelf and wants a copy a special discount, even if I have to buy them myself ^_^
I won't lie though. When I saw the image myself, I almost cried (and did, typing this :-P I need to keep a box of tissues by my computer...). Just seeing my pen name in such a realistic medium; Piper does absolutely amazing work :-D
I'll buy one, but -
I'll need your autograph on the first page!

Publishers that accept unsolicited works
As an author attempting to break into the dead tree world myself, I have discovered that there are three publishers of fiction work that accept unsolicited manuscripts. All of them expect you to present them with a fully edited and ready for print version of your story, but they will at least read them. Baen, Tor and Daw. . .
Wait a minute, looking it up again, I realize that there are three who would accept the drivel I might offer, but more who would accept Robin ;)

One thing to consider: Daw and Tor are REALLY picky about manuscripts and you'd likely have to unpublish at BCTS to even be considered for printing. Baen is a lot more lax, and even have a free library of their own.
I do not know anything about the other publishers, as I am trying to publish a work of science fiction right now.

Have you thought of
Lulu?
S.
Maddy Bell and Nancy Cole both self publish on lulu
... and as far as I can tell it takes a bit of dosh to cover the start up cost if Maddy's experience was any indication. I put in some money to Maddy start on her road to self-publishing when she solicited help in terms of money so she can self-publish.

Piper has been burning the midnight oil. Books Two and Three are receiving a facelift, and I've already switched Boys Don't Cry over to a new title image.
I wounder if I should press my luck and pester her for one for A Trick ... or a Treat? too? ^_~
Kidding! Anyway, here we go!
