According to my account, I've been a member here for four years and three hours. Earlier on I'd noticed it was three years and fifty two weeks--that's like being five feet twelve. I suppose the 'puter decides it's four years when the same time of day is reached as the original enrolling time.
Goodness, four years, I was young and innocent then - now I'm old and innocent, ho hum.
In that time, I started off as a blogger, although I had stories elsewhere, Erin offered me author's membership and I played around with an idea about someone falling off a bicycle - sadly it's never taken off - too outlandish for this establishment and no one would ever read it, would they? I mean, superheroes and magical transformations are practically de rigueur, so somebody who was just transsexual and wanted to live a normal life as a woman once they picked up courage - in about episode two million and seven - wouldn't go down terribly well here, would it?
Well instead of pulling the plug on the idea, I listened to Bonzi who squeaked pitifully at my suggestion to stop writing the story. I promised him I'd continue it, then discovered he was squeaking because I was sitting on his tail. However, I was brought up to believe that one should never break a promise to a child, so I had to honour my promise to Bonzi, hence episode 1300 of EAFOAB tonight.
Somehow plot lines continue to form and for some reason it's become something of a feature of the site, can't think why. Somehow my total portfolio here runs to about fourteen hundred items, much of which is you know what.
My thanks to Erin for her indulgence and support, not only with the daily postings but also helping to set up the archive. Crikey, an archive of my ramblings - oh well, it may be useful for someone's degree thesis in a hundred years time.
My thanks to Ben and PS and Holly for running the archive and the summaries, which I've found really helpful in recalling previous bits and pieces--like names and so on. In thirteen hundred episodes I've used a few names for characters so a list of them is really useful.
Thanks to all my readers, especially those who comment, vote or PM me, for the mostly positive feedback I get, it's been worthwhile spending thousands of hours writing.
Finally, my thanks and remembrance of my friend and editor Gabi Bunton, whose birthday would have been on the 25th of this month, the loss of whom I still feel. She improved my writing and although we didn't always agree on her suggested changes, I learned quite a bit, especially, about, the use, of unnecessary, commas,,, We also laughed rather a lot.
That's it folks, I assume you want me to continue for a bit longer, so unless I fall off my bike, I will for a while.
Angharad.

Waaaaaaa . . .
Thought I had a little bit of something to do with getting you over here, even posting some of your first stories for you. Guess I was mistaken.

Oops!
Sorry, Sis, how could I forget your contribution? I will go and write Texas thirteen hundred times in punishment.
I hope I didn't forget anyone else, apologies and three hail Marys if I did.

Congratulations on four years and thirteen hundred episodes
You've been busy in your four years here and I'm grateful I only missed 12 weeks give or take of it. May your muse stay happy and you make it to episode 6500 of EOFAB on your 20 th anniversary here.
Hugs,
Lisa
A short four years
Congratulations on breaking some kind of record! Probably the most cliffhangers in any epic story in history?
Thank you Angharad also for bringing me here, it was at your suggestion and I am so glad I did.
That was alll...
That was all nice, light and fun - until you got to the "Finally" paragraph... And reminded all of us of our loss. She was a treasure! You were blessed by more than an electronic relationship with her.
I just want to say, when I'm not thinking about comas, that it's been a pleasure to read the vast majority of what you've typed in here. And, what wasn't pleasurable - was very thought provoking and worth the read... And, quite a bit was both pleasurable AND thought provoking (at least for me.
Thank you! (And, thank you Bonzi - for tricking her into sharing the Bikesodes.)
I was all set to give you a "negative" comment. *sighs* No. You need one, so here you go.
As I think back over the 1300 episodes, I realize that you've managed to make me read every darned one of them. That's time I'll never get back!
There. Is that negative enough... Wait... No... No... Okay. *sighs* I'll blow the negativism and admit that it was time well spent. *sighs* I tried to give you a negative comment. I'm a failure...
Thanks, and as I've said before, as long as you write, I, for one, will read. (Gabi would have HATED that abuse of comas!!!)
Thanks,
Anne
Congratulations on your four years (and three hours)
Congratulations on your four years (and three hours) here, Angharad!
The hours I've spent reading Bike have been time well spent, and I look forward to many, many more.
I have a vision of an English Literature professor a couple of decades in the future lecturing on Bike. <grin>
Give Bonzi and Izzy a scratch behind the ears from me!

Growing old disgracefully.
1,300 already?!
Looks as though it's time to add another tab to the spreadsheet...
...and perhaps tonight, catch up on writing the summaries for the last couple of weeks' worth of episodes!
It's been a rollercoaster ride for Cathy so far, starting out before episode 1 as a loner at Uni who probably had a closer relationship with her dormice than with people; to acquiring oodles of friends, an extended family (the Cameron Clan), seven children (plus shares in another), a certain reputation with the local plod - not to mention an ever-growing number of grateful medical staff who want to 'borrow' her from time to time and the occasional tussles with supernatural entities...
Who knows what the future will hold for Cathy and co. in the next 700 (or day I say 1,300) episodes? There's already hints that Gareth may move in on at least a part-time basis upon Stella's return, and of course the family will expand further once she has her second child. At least one thing's for certain - they'll never have to look far for a babysitter!
There are 10 kinds of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who don't...
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Years...
I found this site a little before episode 20 or so, and found myself hooked. I didn't join here until you decided to call it a day as a writer in a classic crisis of confidence. Nobody liked your stuff, nobody commented....and you were completely wrong, as we all know. I joined so I could send you my own message, which was "pldease don't stop". I can remember the words.
You didn't stop, and your example gave me the courage to try out my own stuff, which has helped my life immeasurably. So I not only get to feel a bit better about myself, but I get a damned good read each day.
Thank you.
Four bloody years!!!
Damn, no wonder I'm so tired.. all that pedalling. Well there's probably other reasons and as you pop up in the morning here I really can't blame you at all. Nice thought though.
I think I've said before I have no idea how you do it, but I am glad you do. besides you've probably set a few records along the way that won't be easily, if ever, beat.
My respect and admiration for who you are.
Kristina
Four years
Congratulations, Angharad
I have been following your writing, especially this tale, for quite a while. Thank you so much for keeping the saga going.
To celebrate your fourth anniversary, I finally got around to weighing my ‘dead tree’ copy. It currently weighs five stone or seventy pounds.
May your muse never depart for a long time; my withdrawal symptoms would be awful
I am willing to bribe with truffles if required. Tee hee

Congratulations Angharad, on
Congratulations Angharad, on your reaching an amazing plateau in the realm of storytelling. May "Bike" shine on for a good long time.
