Everyone's on edge at the Nick B household (both of us. The cat doesn't seem to understand or care) today after I got news of a possible new job in the same neck of the woods as Kristina LS.
That'd be weird since she lives half a world away from me - literally.
This means a move to Australia from little ol' England. The language won't change, but the lifestyle sure as hell will.
Will I be able to keep writing? God I hope so.
I certainly won't give up with BC since you're all such a nice bunch here and I think that I would definitely want something familiar nearby.
Anyway, I haven't got the job yet, but either way, I'll keep plonking away at the keys and hopefully will be able to grace these pages at least one more time with something in the meantime.

(I was in Hindon on Monday and recalled then the tankers that used to roll through the 'square' night after night, when I lived there in the Sixties. No thanks to the eponymous operator of those tankers, Hindon is beautifully quiet now.)

Some people have all the luck, thoug this time of year, Wisconsin is damned nice. If it wasn't for all the road repairs.

Poor Nick and other thoughts
The change of scenery sounds like a good thing, especially if it is as bad as John seems to think.
But it is fall turning into winter down under so Nick might need to do a climate check before he chucks all his warm clothes.
Hey John, you make Wisconsin sound as bad as here in Pennsylvania. We joke that we only have two seasons, winter and construction. And sometimes, it damn well feels that way.

We have the standard four seasons here in SoCal. Arson, earthquake, mudslide and peanut butter. :) I'm told that Australia has similar climate, except for Vegemite sightings. :)

Yeah vegemite, kangaroos down the main streets, greys are cool...but watch out for the big reds and then there's the drop bears...nasty.
Oh, it is actually winter here...though I suppose there's winter and then there's winter. But surprisingly there is snow in the mountains outside Sydney today..not much I suspect, only enough to be annoying really, but there. So..it's cold... but then I'm a wimp.

ps just got asked when's the wedding. I suspect his lady love might have some say...and anyway he hasn't bought me roses yet...or even a good bottle of red. Suppose we should actually meet too... not into arranged marriages.
Global warming and Wisconsin
Actually with all the unusually mild winters we've had the last decade or so, road destrution/construction season is approaching year round. Rain is more of a problem than cold.
Kristina, is Nick proposing a three-way? Nick, shame on you. Our sweet Kistina deserves better than that.
Constantly mind weather can cause one to take it for granted but I suppose I could suffer though being stuck in Hawaii.
