Unpublished Blog

Edeyn No, we do not "censor" -- that would be making changes to what you've written. We will unpublish those blogs or forums that do not follow the rules. Politics are not allowed. Your blog is still here, just not published. I do not know who unpublished your blog, but I went to look at it. It is political in nature. If you'd like a copy of it to publish elsewhere, send me a private message and I will send it to you.
We try to keep things civil and as mellow as possible here -- let's face it, a lot of us have a lot of drama in our lives and don't need to have ALL the drama from everyone else. Therefore, the topics that tend to spark passions of disagreement are not allowed in blogs or forums. If they're in stories, they're in stories. A non-exhaustive list of examples of these topics include:
  • Religion
  • Personal attacks on any other user
  • Politics
  • Illegal Activities
  • Stalking
  • Seeking Relationships
  • Porn (especially depicting any kind of illegal porn -- snuff, paedophilia, rape, etc.)

... and since this is a free, private site, those are not unreasonable to demand. As I said, this was a NON-exhaustive list, so there are other things that are not allowed, but you won't run afoul of them as long as you use common standards of judgment and decency.

thanks

thanks for the reply. don't really like the answer, but must accept it and move on. it is real hard to deal with who i am, without the no no material. it is confusing in that all the no no stuff can be found in the various stories and poems on this site, not to mention the your closing comment above. i will endeavor to persevere, as my cherokee ancestors did prior to their declaration of war on the united states, and as that got us nowhere, i guess i will have to adapt and conform, or go elsewhere, though i don't see that there is an elsewhere. i'm kinda sad right now. redman

For what it's worth...

I agree with some of your original post -- though we definitely came to where we are from opposite directions.

Explaining your political background was, IMHO, borderline as far as what is appropriate for this site. I wouldn't want to have to make the call. I think that the fact that it had absolutely nothing to do with TG issues was the telling point.

As far as political statements in fiction -- making that a standard would make for bland fiction. What we have to remember is that the opinions of the characters are not necessarily the opinions of the author. It is very often true with POV characters, especially when written in first person, but that is far from universal.

Some of the most intriguing and thought-provoking fiction will have a variety of well expressed opinions. On the other hand, it's can be tempting to pull a Heinlein and have your first person POV character make eloquent dissertations.

Edit:
We all like to express ourselves. Blogspot and Facebook are good places to do that without restriction. It isn't an either-or proposition, either. The trick is to use each forum for its intended purpose, and refrain from mentioning all the stuff that is very important to you, but doesn't fit the forum in question.

understood

i do understand, but wish it weren't so. nothin' wrong with heinlen, he may have written the first tg sci-fi story, or at least the first one to be mainstream. what the sight really needs is a way to put what i wrote in my profile. if there is a way, i haven't found it. was a pet peeve not a suggested standard. the particular author is one i read almost daily. face book is too public, like family et al. blogspot isn't part of my limited knowledge base. while, i may not cross dress, and am not transgendered, i am indeed beautiful inside, and there i will remain beautiful in-spite of time rapidly running to a conclusion of this life time. maybe the right body for my soul the next time around. :-) redman
