last year and she stopped posting suddenly. I sincerely hope that she is alright and will be returning soon. Anybody know why she is not here?

I'm here

The story isn't. I took a few days off to get over the shit storm I flew into with the last posted chapter. And then I thought, why bother posting more chapters? If you wonder what I'm talking about, just read the comments on the last chapter. Lots of people telling me I was doing it wrong and more in the PMs.

Nearly everyone of those people was either jumping to conclusions about where the story was going, nitpicking based on who-knows-what "special" information they claimed to have, or just dumping on the story because it wasn't the one they wanted me to write.

Who needs it? I don't.

But I'm here almost everyday. I have another account I login with to leave comments and sometimes, I just don't login at all. I still have ten chapters of Lulu already written but they will probably just stay on my disk until I get a new computer and I "forget" to move them to the new hard drive.

Don't let them get to you.

I see that I made some comments on your story, and I hope that I was not that negative. I was enjoying it.

For many years, I thought that I'd had my will broken as a child, and abuse was at fault. However, in some recent reading, I have also found out that my "breeding" probably played a large role.

I too did not think that people could be "turned" that fast, but it is just a story. And, I was turned though I do not know how fast it was done. I hope you decide to go ahead with the story.

As far as voice surgery experts go, as far as I can tell, there is a lot of variability in the outcome. Fortunately, I required none, but had to train really hard for about a year. Now, I lack the ability to speak in my old male register without a lot of pain. Of course my male voice never was very convincing. LOL

Much Peace

Passing thought

Just because someone has a passing thought while half-asleep doesn't mean they've been brainwashed or changed their mind completely. Holy Shit! If that were how minds worked nearly everyone on the planet would be a sociopathing mass murderer.

See, that was the kind of comment that annoyed the fuck out of me. Someone takes a couple of lines and decides I am doing something that I ain't doing. And then bases a criticism on that conclusion as if I had written a ton on it.

And the criticism was malarkey, btw. It is amazing, simply FUCKING amazing what a little stress and sensory deprivation can do to convince someone of something, though usually only temporary. How long does Stockholm Syndrome take to develop? Sometimes minutes.

And I researched the absolute HELL out of the voice thing and then someone comes in and based on who knows fuck-all about one person's experience they say I'm unrealistic. Some lady just had voice box surgery and was talking the next day I heard on the radio but you know, that ain't typical and I would almost bet that she was talking against medical advice. Larynxes are delicate things and no-one actually knows that much about some things that can go wrong with them.

Okay, I had almost talked myself back into posting again but I see that I am still pissed about this. Sorry.

I'm sure you meant well, but don't step on the sore paw of a sleeping bear.

Here's an idea...

Try posting it to somewhere like Stardust, which is less busy than here. You'd probably get fewer reads but then again you'd also get fewer complaints :)
That way, those who were enjoying the tale can still enjoy it...

Maybe you should just give up?

I thought it was pretty good, though some of it I would not write like you did, but DUH, it is your story. I am surprised that you would allow a couple opinionated, negative people put you off? And, I have written a few forced fem stories. However, for some reason, the comments I got were quite mild and gentle to me.

It would have been nice to see you carry out your premise.

Go look at the comments

It wasn't a couple, it was nearly everyone who commented on that last chapter and several PMs besides. And more than two of them were determined that I was not doing it right, no matter what I said.

I did carry out my premise, BTW. The story is on my hard drive, it just isn't posted anywhere.

that's a shame

that a lot of people that were enjoying your story are not as vocal as a few who love to hear their own voice. i hope you do finish the story at some point.

I agree. I was reading and honestly didn't pay too much attention to the comments and I don't think I made one. I do understand that it can be very disheartening to get people jumping on something they don't like or maybe agree with. A story is the authors, they are omnipotent. If reality is seemingly stretched a little..shrug, so be it, no one has to read. I may wonder at the why or even the probability of things at times but.... It bothers me more when the stories internal logic is bent out of shape and so far you hadn't done that.

Up to you but you did write a story and had your reasons for posting. Keep at it huh. You may even get some coming around, stranger things have happened.

Don't let them get you down

First. I love my readers. I love my commenters, I love my critics...

However, I've noticed a couple of things. The biggest, in biographical stories some have treated it like total fiction, and in my Total Fiction works, they act as though the characters are real people.

You are the writer. You are the ONLY one who can know where your story is going. The fact that you have so many comments and PMs really is a compliment. You KNOW you've LOTS of people reader your story!!!

I know, it gets discouraging, but someone here shared a gem of wisdom with me. We write for ourselves or for our own reasons. The comments of others, while nice, are not the determinative factor in your writing.

I would hate to see you abandon a story simply because someone or lots of someones thought they knew what your story should be. You are the only one. Let 'em guess. Let 'em tell you what they think you should do. Then do what you were going to anyway!!

I usually include a blatant, "Please comment" statement in my stories. Usually, I also say, uh, I appreciate your suggestions, don't be offended if I don't follow them.

Cheer up! You've lots of people reading!!
