... I've been reading fewer stories here than on other sites.
On other sites my main way of choosing which stories to read is by reading the short synopsis that authors provide. Very few authors do so here, and I'm thus provided little incentive to read unless I'm familiar with the author. Categories alone are not enough.
Even if you are posting the stories here yourself, it is possible to include a synopsis in what appears on the front page. I think Erin needs to include instructions for that in a story posting help file that is easy for new authors to find.

I can fix it so a synopsis is required but I'd rather not. Sometimes for serials it really isn't necessary. On the old BC, what synopses there were, were usually written by me or sometimes by one of the other editors.

Fiction content-type
The fiction content-type has been restored, this type will now require a synopsis which will be displayed on the main page and in listings of stories. Story and Book Page types can still be entered for the moment.

Problems with Peaches Part 5?
Angela reports that she's unable to open the Peaches Part 5 file. Is anyone else experiencing problems with it?

Wysiwyg incompatible with plain text
Please don't use either of the plain text options with the Wysiwyg story type, they are not compatible. This seems to be what causes some browser/OS combinations to gag on opening some stories. I'm working on making it impossible to make this mistake while still leaving it possible to use wysiwyg editors where appropriate.
