A skirt, yay!

Yesterday, for the first time since my partner went into hospital, I was able to dress properly - a t-shirt and skirt! I was so comfortable, it irks me having to do the whole 'pretend man' thing all the time!

The big problem was, because I have been doing all the shopping and washing, I have to spend at least part of every day out in the big world, and regrettably I'm not able to do that from home yet. Therefore it seemed sensible to dress male for each day even though I itched to do otherwise.

I can't even put the washing on our line, unfortunately. Our garden is reasonably well secluded, but at least two neighbours either side would be sure to notice if the real me emerged at any time - especially knowing how my luck's running at the moment. I'm too tired to want to start handing out complex explanations just at the moment, thanks. Ignorance is bliss, at least for them.

Yesterday, however, I'd caught up on the washing, it was a Sunday so no shopping and no big meal to make, so I set my hair Saturday night and managed to get out of the chrysalis yesterday morning for a day of bliss. However, I got caught out by the change in the weather. I dressed light since it had been very warm last week, and it was a fair bit colder yesterday. Because of the Fibromyalgia I feel it on my upper arms and current t-shirt styles have very abbreviated sleeves :(

[Nearly got caught Saturday evening. Forgot about the hairdo and put some rubbish out in the bin, just as it was getting dark. Fortunately, no-one was about.]

I still managed to do a considerable amount of ironing at various points during the day, although I probably overcooked it somewhat as I woke up total crap this morning. Spent today in zombie mode until after lunch when I went down to our dentist and had my crown glued on the implant ( £650) plus a root canal job (free - another long story. Did I come out ahead on that one?).

Now I'm waiting for the anaesthetic to wear off so I can have something to drink without dribbling.

My partner? Progressing well, thank you. She's still not lifting heavy objects but is walking 1-2 miles a day now. We're off to Reading on Thursday to see the specialist for the first time since the op, that will probably wipe both of us out again for a day or two.

I just wish I could spare enough time (and energy) to get writing again. My muse just won't let up. I have three almost completed cracking tales to unfold, plus parts and sequels for a number of other stories. Gah!
