For those of you who enjoy my scribbles, it might please you to know that our practice nurse thinks I'll live a bit longer, after she checked my leg. It still bloody hurts, especially when standing up from sitting or sitting from standing. Which means I'm on sick leave for the next day or two. Dunno which is worse the boredom from inaction, or the pain when I try to move.
Sitting at a computer probably doesn't help especially when I try to get up afterwards.

Eek!
Well, at least the rest of you is OK, and you haven't got any internal injuries.
If sitting down / standing up hurts, then the easy solution (especially if it starts raining a lot) is to surround your computer desk with nibbles and drinks, and settle down for a nice long read :)
Alternatively join the crowd and add your own superhero to the CRU. Unfortunately, I can't remember any dormouse-loving, bicycling, blue-light-healing, TG-child-magnetic superheroes in existing comics, but Lilith does allow the occasional original character.

I hope you heal quickly and the pain goes.
Bonzi really needs to learn dictation, no reason at all why he cannot type even if his toes are close together!
Glad to hear ...
... you did the sensible thing and got some attention. The last thing you need is an infection in the wounds as my wife now knows only too well. At least she's now able to cycle again and you'll recover quicker because you've done the right thing at the outset rather than being unnecessarily brave.
A young healthy woman like you will be back on full song before you have time to get bored. Anyway you can fill the time by entertaining your myriad fans :)

Dear Ang,
Sorry to hear about your mishap; I didn't read your Sat post until just now. Luckily, I haven't crashed this year.
Last year, I had one low speed crash: The guy pulling had to stop fast because a car made a right turn in front of him. Our group was just coasting up to a red light. The light changed and we had only accelerated to about 15 mph. I was second; braked hard, ran into his leg at a low speed and fell sideways. I caught myself on my hands and just had a very light scratch on my right leg.
I'm also wondering how you hurt both knees.
Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee

Good news! If bored...
You could always take up a musical instrument...though I would not recommend a pipe organ. All those pedals would make you feel at home,but....

Having suffered my share of bangs and abrasions, I know what you mean about the standing/sitting/standing pains. I'm sure you'll be more mobile in a couple of days. In the meantime, enjoy some of your favorite painkiller.
A word of warning. Bonzi may say he wants to wash your wounds and make them all better. Actually, he has developed a taste for blood!

I can't stand sitting down either
I wanted to resume cycling when I had to give up driving, but they might consider me a risk to otner road users. I understand that you need to be able to see where you're going.
Maybe I need to find a strong bloke and a tandem.

Tandem
I have one, and some years ago on the Bike Express came across an organisation who exist to provide sighted pilots to blind stokers. That way, both get to ride out in lovely places. Can't remember their name, but am sure it is googlable

Glad you're okay.
Glad you're not too badly wounded and Robyn's right to say if the wound is that deep it's wise to check it out. I know us older chicks are not so prone to infection because of our mature immune systems and never having been exposed to an excess of antibiotics and bacteriacides, but it's still wise to check it. I had hundreds of 'dirt injections' as a snotty nosed under-aged tranny getting beaten up on cricket fields and football pitches for not playing well enough. The cuts and bruises were often smeared in mud but it meant my immune system got plenty of practice..
You have my complete sympathy vis-a-vis the aches and pains plus the onset of 'Cabin fever' that will start to affect you in short order, if it hasn't already.
Even tapping the keyboard can be a bummer if your wrists and hands are hurting.
Good luck and get well. Lot's of tea and hobnobs helps to keep my mood sweeter. I'm sure you've got a favourite as well.
I won't offer you love and hugs, it's probably too flippin' painfull.
Bev.

How often do you get to fall. Write a story, short on the side,or
read a few. Make some comments. Some of us check our stories and then
look at the comments. None, or at best one.
Latest update on the leg.
The leg is improving but still has a small hole in it which is weeping, so I can only surmise the pavement I hit must have had kryptonite in it.

Sounds similar ...
... to the injury my wife sustained when she fell over a chair. Thankfully, it's now almost completely healed and she's now able to cycle as much as she normally does - ie quite a lot. However it did take a couple of courses of anti-biotics and remembering to sit with her leg elevated for a week or three so take care. Good to know you're on the mend.
Anyway, we're all booked up for a week's pedalling in deepest Dorset after the Bank Holiday so I hope her leg is OK. We'll have the tandem and the singles so our options are open.
