Who let the Cat out of the bag?

Just writing to say, 'Hi!,' 'I'm alive,' and 'Sorry the new 'If the Shoe Fits...' chapters are late.' I don't have writer's block. If anything I have an overabundance of ideas pouring out of my head and my body can't keep up. It's been hard squirreling away hours to get serious writing done in between real life which is kind of kicking my ass. I feel like the ref at the world cup match, I'm just doing my job and like, everyone is raining the hate down on me. If anyone is thinking of getting into PR. Don't. My face is permanently frozen in a frosting smile as I eat shit all day. But maybe that's a story for another time?

I wanted to give a shout out to The Tuck Saga, Maddy Bell's Gaby, Shinigami's Trouser Snake and god, I'm missing like a hundred others from here and elsewhere. Anyway, if not for my interest in these unique, compelling worlds I probably wouldn't have been inspired to write my own story. So thank you all. Also, big ups to Joss Whedon without whose TV shows I would never have gotten back into writing at all.

What I set out to do with ITSF... is tell a story from start to finish. While I love the day-in-the-life-of style of Tuck and Gabs as well as the universes in which they reside, the longer the series went the more I started missing the dramatic urgency of a well told page turner.

So I decided to be strict with my storytelling. ITSF... has a beginning, a middle and an end. Barring my unforeseen passing, I will see Alex and friends to the end of their tale.

Since I have no actual finished chapter (but many notes and outlines) to add yet, I'll tease you with the next four chapter titles:

Ch. 5 Guys and Dolls
Ch. 6 Wicked
Ch. 7 The Muse
Ch. 8 Good Girls Go Bad

Cat, back to the Bag.

Glad You Checked In

Wow, I'm so glad to hear that ITSF will continue. I'll be staring at my screen, waiting (im)patiently :)

Finishing the Story

Um, yes, that's what I set out to do too (Balthasar's Elixir). It took me three years and 140,000 words, but it did come to a dramatic ending. Hope writing your story goes faster. On the strength of your promise, now I'm going to start reading it. Hugs, Daphne
