Blondes have more funds

Printer-friendly version

A recent study from the Queensland University of Technology shows blondes earn 7% more on average than women with other hair colours, and tend to marry men who earn on average 6% more than other women's husbands.
The survey of 13,000 women showed that the difference in pay was not connected with other factors such as height, weight or education.

On the other hand, a study by Lycos in 2008 showed that 78 of the world's top 100 billionaires had wives or long term girlfriends with brunette or raven hair...

Perhaps the increased earning power of blondes has something to do with being more aggressive, as I blogged about in January?

Meanwhile, spotted on a mug at work:

"BUY ME, Lady" said the frock,
"And I will make you into a
BEAUTIFUL and COMPLETE and
WHOLE human being."
"DO NOT be silly," said the man,
"for a frock alone can not do that."
"TRUE," said the Lady. "I will buy
the shoes and bag as well."

I have it on good authority...

that the stereotypical "dumb blonde" has to be caused by the ones that get the blonde out of a bottle. (That is, they're natural brunettes, etc.) That, natural blondes are actually very smart. Some of them even "act" the dumb blonde to trick people, and get their way. The authority said that the dumbing down must be an unadmitted side effect of the bleaching process.

I have no choice but believe this, since my daughter told me... (It's healthier this way.)

Okay it might be true even if stereotypical. I work with a bottle blonde GG and she's got to be the most spun individual I've ever met. Sweet, full of heart and laughter and very open minded but really spinny.

Heh, no fair!

Being Asian, there is NO chance that I can be naturally blond of course. So therefore on behalf of us disadvantaged Asians, I demand unlimited hair coloring ( double (triple?) processing! ) for all so we can bridge the 'Blond Gap'!

No! Don't do it, Kimmie! No!

O Kimmie!

Please do not dare to bleach your hair
Of softer raven silk,
For those not fond of bottled blond
Lament that silly ilk
Of girls who pride in peroxide
Tresses of yellow gold,
While they deceive without reprieve
Some poor rich fellow, bold
And vain enough to give his stuff
To her in youthful lust,
Yet thinking her not to confer
Another man her trust.

But onyx hair that you would care
For is a treasure
To our kind whose heart and mind
Prefer only the pleasure
Of lovely locks, not in a box
From apothecaries' shelves,
But kindly grown in deeper tone
From your mystic, inner selves.
So, celebrate, do not berate,
That which is truly yours;
Midnight mellowed, not beach yellowed,
The flight romantic soars!
