Seems Like A Rational Conclusion
Or. . .you might just consider that number of votes, comments, and/or hits has absolutely no correlation with quality of writing.
Or. . .you could go to the garden and eat worms.

A Good Story
is a good story, TG or no TG.
You write good stories.
i agree
you write good stories all of them and every one likes to read them all some peopl just vote while some just comment and some dont do either but still like the story. i like your peaches story but have never commented cause one i am always afraid i will say something stupid and embarrass myself or by the time i read it what i want to say has already been said and i dont want to feel like a copy cat and not be able to think up my own comment so maddy please write all the types you do now as i like them all and am looking forward to more all the time from you
At least
find a good stopping point for the "Gaby" series and "Sam an tha" first, please!
I like your TS/TV stories that I've read, including the Nena series (which I would enjoy seeing more of) but if you feel it's time to stop writing them then it's your choice. However, if it's only because of what you perceive to receive the most reads and hits, well, THAT is not, in fact, a good reason. Only stop if YOU aren't happy writing them.

Bear in mind...
...that stories such as Gaby and Nena have been published in various other places beforehand - so once people have read an episode on one site, they're not always going to re-read it on another site. So ideally you'd need to compare read / vote / comment counts here with those on the various other places the stories have been published, before arriving at a final decision.
Perhaps on our part, if we have read an episode elsewhere beforehand, we can dive in to the copy published here and vote on it anyway - we're not exactly cheating as we have read it (albeit elsewhere!), it only takes a few seconds per episode, and it gives Maddy reassurance that we are actually reading her tales...
Also, as an experiment, if you've got a short TG story lying around that either hasn't been published yet, or was published many years ago and has been seemingly forgotten, try republishing it here and see what kind of response you get...
As the right side of the brain controls the left side of the body, then only left-handers are in their right mind!
Although...
...in probably not-so-helpful counterpoint, I've been reading Gaby directly from Maddy's site, but I've made a point of voting on each chapter as it's been posted here.
Had I any money, I'd buy copies as well. ^^;

I do hope your muse will inspire you to do more TG fiction
Maddy, you're a gifted writer, and can spin a good tale in a variety of genres. I very much enjoy your TG fiction, more so that the "alternative lifestyle" stories.
I've bought all the Gaby works as PDF downloads, but I still read them and vote here. They're good the second time around, too!
I do hope your muse will inspire you to do more Gaby, Nena, Peaches, etc, as well as new characters.

Pleae don't
Don't quit, I am not sure how large your audience is but I am an avid member of it.
Dear Maddy
Maddy,
I have been reading your stories for a long time, mainly on your own site. I have bought several of the books and still enjoy dipping in and out of the Gaby series. I am also a fan of Nena and your new story Peaches.
As others have said, you are a gifted writer. As long as you still enjoy writing, whether it’s TG or not, please continue.
Even someone like me, who is useless at writing, can appreciate how frustrating it must be to spend hours working on a story only to receive a paucity of praise.
May I suggest you go on a long ride and have a good ponder on whether to continue or not. The fact that I will be hoping you will continue, should sway you not one jot.
With Love

Please reconsider
I have not read or voted for the Gaby stories, yet. The reason is simply that it is an overwhelming task to start reading such a huge work, and I prefer to read it from the beginning instead of jumping directy to book 7. I have only read stories here at BCTS for a few months, and I do hope to find the time to catch up with Gaby eventually. I really like Jamie and the Peach, and expect the Gaby stories to be just as good or maybe even better.
So don't give up writing this kind of stories based on read or vote counts, as these counts can be biased by all sorts of things other than the quality of the works!
Thanks for writing and sharing the stories!

My thoughts exactly!
It will be a sad day if you decide so.

Noooooooo!!
Hi Maddy
I sincerely hope you don't stop writing TG fiction. I find your characters engaging, and their approach to the situations you create to be captivatingly innocent and extremely funny.
The Gaby series and the various fanfic for it are published in so many places that it took me a while to actually track down your website. Since, I've read nearly everything there. I had to stop reading some of the fanfic, because I couldn't keep your "real" storyline straight in my mind.
I've done what I can to support your writing, having bought all the Gaby books, so as you've posted new episodes on this site I don't always read them here, but when I do I at least vote. I will most likely purchase the Nena series this year too, and I hope you continue it.
I think part of the reason for the low hit count on some stories you've posted here is the fact that the stories are in fact fairly old, and by the time posted here they've already been read by most of the readership here.
As for the Peach series, it does seem that it is taking a while for the readers to warm up to it. I like it, and have at least voted for each episode, but I think I'm like many readers here, thinking to myself, "Well she needs a break, but I wish she'd get the next Gaby book out!" I'm sorry to admit that, but we Gaby addicts are like that you know.
As for your alternate lifestyle stories, my tastes run elsewhere. I love pre-teen and teen coming of age stories but without the graphic sex so many have. I think that's why I've enjoyed yours so much.
Please accept what I say as a vote of confidence.
Hugs
Carla Ann
PS I'm sure you can tell from my vocabulary I'm one of those blasted Yanks. I've lived in many parts of the US, and have never had a tremendous desire to visit the lands beyond. Your writings have opened for me a wonderful perspective of life in Great Britain, Germany, and in fact Europe. And you've even managed to teach me a bit about racing strategy!
