Found during a link crawl from the "Princess" comic strip (see GeekGirl's earlier blog - here's a handy link), an article covering a (recent?) episode of "The Dr. Oz Show" - a US health issues / investigations show presented by Dr. Mehmet Oz, MD.

Here's some background info on Dr. Oz and his show I dug up: Dr. Oz certainly keeps himself busy - he's the Vice-Chair and Professor of Surgery at Columbia University, he directs the Cardiovascular Institute and Complementary Medicine Program at New York Presbyterian Hospital. performs 250 heart operations annually, hosts the show, and presumably has various staff on hand to maintain his online presence (website, Facebook, MySpace, Twitter).
Searching his website can't find any more info about that particular show, but they do have a video on intersexuality.
And the "Ask Dr. Oz" section has a variety of articles related to a search on "transgender" (Responses written by Boston Women's Health Book Collective)

That interview was very sympathetic and the exposition was done without any prejudicial bias. I hope this is a popular show in the US.
