British singer/songwriter Frank Turner never got on with his father, who was apparently quite abusive towards Frank as he grew up. Then his father took the name Miranda and transitioned. An event Frank could not forgive and they didn't talk for ten years. Eventually Frank got to know Miranda better, they reconciled, and Frank has written a song about the experience. Take a listen here : "Miranda".
I reckon it's about time I made another blog entry. Again I don't remember all of the fine stories I have enjoyed since the last post, but I'll list what I can remember without repeating ones mentioned in earlier posts (well, some may creep in). So here goes.
So a fellow newbie has taken the plunge and has started to write! Rhona McCloud started off with a bite sized morsel : Not a writer but I couldn't resist - Dammit!. I mean it was REALLY short - 149 words, but it was well written. I hope she follows up with more to this story as I think it has legs - shapely ones of course. She has since added a follow on instalment, similarly short - 165 words this time.
I am quite sad that one of my favourite stories "Almost a Girl" has come to an end. Regrettably the last episode somehow didn't appeal to me in the same way as the preceding episodes, and this has left me feeling a little bit deflated. But it has been a fantastic story to follow, and I kept thinking if only... I only hope there are further adventures to come.
I am slowly making progress through "As Easy as Falling off a Bike" and I am now at episode 141. Only another 2245 episodes to catch up on.
I have been a member of this website for nearly 3 weeks, although I discovered it about 4 weeks or so ago. It's wonderful, and I'm sad that I didn't find it before.
