I was introduced to the Joe Bates Saga on the Nifty Story Site way back when. And as of this writing the first 58 chapters are still available at http://www.nifty.org/nifty/transgender/Joe_Bates_Saga/.

The file datestamp is 1996-04-17 and the chapters (unfortunately out of order) are just plain text files. So this story is at least 17 years old.

I will warn those of you who do not now the Nifty Story Site though, that most of the content there is not work safe! I had gotten pretty frustrated, since even the TG/TS content seemed to same-sex (not the same es same-gendered) oriented, with a lot of forced-fem and physical/psychological abuse mixed in. Many of the stories focused mostly on the physical dynamics with rather explicit and detailed descriptions of the act, instead of focusing on the feelings/emotions and character evolution of the protagonists and antagonists. Also, the TG/TS content is a minority as compared to the "Gay Male", "Bisexual" and "Lesbian" content, with the BDSM orientation predominating. So Nifty is self-classified as "Adult" and/or maybe even "Porn".

After I found BCTS, I have pretty much abandoned Nifty. This feels much more family-like (including the ocasional scabbles). The "friendly" philosophy even extends to the content of the posted stories -- though that does not preclude some authors from posting stories with more extreme content. And the tagging system in place here, allows me to proactively select what I want to read.
