I am in the process of started to check off the things needed to start RLT. California is strange and wonderful. In the case of a transgender individual you sex can be changed on the same form, and as part of the same process. So, soon I will be Linda Elisabeth W.....
I'm very excited. Alas, I did not accurately get my start date started.
I'm moving to Oklahoma anyway. I will fly back to San Diego to appear before a judge. Not a huge thing these days.
I will finally, fortuitously, and a bunch of other words beginning with f.
I am so excited it gets hard to control my jumping up and down button.
That is my news. Seemed like a good place to post it.
To those of you who have helped me along the way, THANK YOU MORE THAN I COULD EVER SAY. I've a good grasp of the english language, but I find it sorely lacked.

Oklahoma
I attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training (AIT) as a Field Artillery Surveyor at Ft Sill OK. The only thing I can say about OK is that the only reason Texas is still around is because OK sucks... :)
And big grats on the name change and other good news about you.
Army Base
If you are going to judge a state by it's military bases, especially one that does artillery training (which by design is out in the middle of nowhere), then no state is going to make the cut. Having grown up in Oklahoma, I can say there are a lot of things wrong here, things it shares with most other states. But there are a lot of things right also. I'd much rather live in Oklahoma than La-la-land California.

You could not pay me enough to move to Cali. I could probably tolerate OK if I did not love living in New England though.
