I don't know why; maybe part of me identified with her? But it makes me cry. Sorry

A sad day.
Not only talented, but an amazing example of humanity. The light of the world is a little dimmer today.
Upon my liar's chair
Full of broken thoughts
I cannot repair
We love you, Annette
Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye.
We didn't want to see you go.
I cried when I heard the news
I think all the world will know
We'll always love you, Annette.
Hello, hello, hello....

Almost as sad as
the day Captain Kangaroo (Bob Keeshan) died. For my generation the original Mickey Mouse Club with Annette and the others was a must see.
Tis a sad day for sure.
While I'm to young to have seen the orignal airing of the orignal mickey mouse club. I do remember seeing airings of some of the later black an white ones. I think I also seen a movie or 2 with her in it.
I remember coming home and turning on the television to watch
Walt Disney's The Mickey Mouse Club and watching Annette doing her part of the Mouseketeer Roll Call. When I was little I either wanted to be Annette Funicello or be like her. I have 3 of the Beach movies with Annette and Frankie. Everybody back then thought they were made for each other, the way it seemed they got along in the Beach movies. She was an icon of a young generation and she will be sorely missed.
R.I.P. Annette Funicello, we will always love you and you will always live in our hearts.
