Sorry to be a bit crass...
But does anyone have a spare PCI-Express Video Card?
Preferably something PCIe x16 compatible with a decent amount of memory?
My BIG PC, the one I use for my art work (3D renders, Photoshop, Book-covers, etc) is down for the count. When the "Cleaners" were dealing with the mold, they moved everything outside the house, and left all my electronics out in the weather for 3+ days... I thoroughly dried everything before starting but something caused a fault in my ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB is now DEAD. In fact, the machine won't even power on, when I have the 2x 12V power plugs plugged into it.
The Motherboard has no on-board video so I can't even get basic use out of it in the mean time, and they (the cleaners) managed to throw away most my spare-parts supply.
Thank you all, and sorry for being like this.

They left your stuff outside?!?
What were they thinking. Wow, what a bunch of doo doo.

2x 12v powersupply is not a pc but a laptop. you dont need a pci express but a mini pci express. I dont think you can even fit a full one in a laptop as they are wider than the laptops are thick.
Ati is about right for heavy graphic work but then again nvidea is also very good at detailed graphics. Since your not a gamer the nvidea is not a nessecity.'
If the machine will not boot up it may not be the card itself try using windex to clean all the contact points of any corrosion.
It is a PC
2x 12v as in the card has two molex connectors to draw power direct from an enhanced (actually quite commonplace now) power supply. Any half-decent graphics card will have special power requirements clearly marked on the packaging.

PCI Express X16 not Mini PCI-Express...
This is the card I'm replacing...
As you can see, it's QUITE to large to fit inside my laptop :P
In this pic...
You can quite clearly see the 2x 6pin Molex Power connectors that Cat mentioned. I belive they are 12v on a separate Dual 12volt Rail, the same that my DualCPU DualCore Xeon board requires to power the motherboard, but I could be wrong.

bloody hell
I didn't think they could fit inside a laptop.
Oh well something new everyday. My pci express in my machines dont have the molex connections thats why I was think mini express which is different.
Edit oh crap its a dell laptop thats not gonna be fun.
edit 2 that is a mini pci express. Regular has external hookups and wont work in there. So you need a Laptop pci express (its called mini by people in the field dont ask me why) A PC card wont work at all.
The card NEEDS to go in my
The card NEEDS to go in my Tower... AMD Phenom II x4 955 Black edition CPU, 12GB ram, etc....
I just took the picture with the laptop in the background because it was a handly platform, and to show that I knew there was NO WAY IN HECK it would fit...
And yes, it's a Dell PRECISION M4300 laptop.... The laptop has an Nvidia Quadro FX 360m card which is fine for what I use the laptop for.
But I will ALWAYS prefer ATI video when working in Windows and Nvidia when working in Linux.
But just to STRESS this... The CARD I need to replace, is for my Tower...
i got one
its a g-force 8500 with 1 gig of ddr2 ram. You can skype me.
