Sometimes it works out for the good . My Garage door took an electrical surge and not knowing who to call I called the original installer, they found a circuit board was fried and said it was under warranty a week later (TODAY)they came to install new parts and pulled a NEW motor from the box all for $20.00 labor charge and 65.00 service call WOO-HOO.That made my dayand the door now goes up & down without me pulling it.I just neede to share this with my BCTS friends ---HUGS RICHIE2

Congratulations

I'm glad your problem with getting it to go up was only temporary and you don't have to pull on it anymore.

Good For You, But...

Kim and I would have had to get the parts somehow, maybe under the warranty, and install them ourselves. We can't pay an unbudgeted $85 that easily. Alternatively we would just have a manual door. We had the gas furnace, within our AC unit, die about 6 yrs ago. We tried replacing various parts, couldn't make it work, but didn't want to pay a service call. We've been without heat during our short winters. I think last winter it got down to 59° F once. Probably like a house in New England with (expensive oil) heat. It's no hardship.

Also we don't have a garage or a garage door, but it's all payed for!

Hugs and Bright Blessings,
Renee
