Very pretty girl
seems a shame that the rules are so tight, but then, if you adopt a high profile, even as beautiful as Jenna is, you're going to come unstuck. I'm minded of the story of Icarus.
Angharad
Still,
Excellent presentation. Sorry it didn't work out.
Well...
Let's not say "Canadians" all generalised like that. A "female" competition got transphobic. That's not unique. Last time an issue like this way brought up one member of this site decided to get all bigoted against Canadians.
It's a shame she was discriminated against but it doesn't really come as a surprise to me. From what I understand they don't like the idea of so-called "engineered" beauty, which in itself is interesting because as far as I've seen the only "engineering" was the SRS that gave her the proper sex. One day, I'm sure, we'll a bit more respect for the TG community.
Hopefully publicised issues like this will help educate the general public on transgender issues. It could be this sparks changes to cis-sexist attitudes.
I was wondering....
I was wondering if the competition had gone nude - so that her "engineered" beauty might be visible... All I've read, the rest of her "grew" that way...
I figure the problem was that people felt she had an unfair advantage over the other girls...
Annette
Indeed.
Yeah, that's the same feeling I got too. I don't think it was an issue of "advantage," I think everyone who is a supporter of TG rights can tell right now that this was done for ideological purposes. The contest is merely appealing to a sense of "fairness" and trying to sound cordial to the victim in order to garner enough public support. They want to prevent a controversy from ruining future competitions.
Canadian Beauty
Wow! I never looked that good ... ever!
I wouldn't mind being represented by her.

it seems sad to me that i am Canadian and this was done . the Donald Trump owned pageant who made the decision i think and as they say rules are rules which is a bunch of bullshit. it seems this country is pulling back from it forward motion on gender issues shame on you Canada.
rues
Stop.
Spouting ignorant comments is merely going to encourage hate towards this country, whether you be Canadian or not. This was not the decision of Canada. This was not the decision of a majority of Canadians. You just said the pageant wasn't even Canadian in origin. So what part of this should be "shame on Canada"?
Hold on a minute everybody.
She WAS born a girl. It's just that she came equipped with the wrong genitalia!!!!!
YOU ARE what's between your ears NOT what's between your legs!!! Who are these intransigent stubborn dummies who still persist in determin ing a child's sex by what lies between the legs.
Have doctors learned nothing after our years of campaigning!!!?
Speaking of beauty contests....
...I refer you to the picture just above this comment...Growing old distinguished!

Surprised
At the comments to the article. Even the Hate Mail in the UK will have some comments that are rational, but this lot are despicable.
The websits asked me if I wanted to sign up, so I ticked 'no thanks'. If I had read the online comments first, my answer would have been '**** OFF!'
Blech.
She wouldn't have deserved to win if she lied about being genetically female, but even so, some of those comments are ignorant and bigoted beyond belief...
The Donald
It's a contaest sponsor by Donald Trump and this is not the first time he has been involved in these kind of issues over 1 of his beauty contests, maybe he should keep his personal bias out of REAL BEAUTY . Genetic girls should look so good. That is my 2 (make that 3)cents (inflation) RICHIE2
Canadians got confused!
She is very pretty.

ROFL
Wow you people should look at the big picture a bit more.
A contestant put false information to gain entry into a pagenent. This is cause for any dismissal.
The ONLY way this contestant can hope to combat this in a court of law is by using the media for support.
Your being used. Just stand back and wait for the full facts before you make a descion to lynch people.
You have more information???
You have more information showing where she provided false information?
All I've been able to see is a claim by organizers that something in her application was "flawed"... And many others speculating around the edges that it is because she was not "born" a woman... Others have suggested she had "enhancement surgery"... The only surgery I've seen documented was her reassignment surgery two years ago... And, unless the competition has changed, that shouldn't be visible...
Now, had she had significant cosmetic surgery (Yeah, this was something that happened in the past and was a reason some of the contests require no cosmetic surgery - but SRS is only sometimes considered "cosmetic" surgery.) I could see the rejection.
Speaking for myself, I WAS born a woman - just with functional male parts. I do know that there are other women out there who appear to claim that if your birth certificate didn't say "Female" you really weren't one, or at best weren't born one...
So - while, yes I do believe the media is being used to give her a chance to participate. I don't believe it's false outrage. Wait for the facts? The organization has certainly NOT been forthcoming on explaining why she was rejected.
