I just wanted to thank Erin (and all her other personas) for creating the atmosphere of this site. I must say, I enjoy writing and I enjoy having an audience. But this site is so different than other story sites. It is so supportive and user friendly. I know that some of what I write doesn't appeal to all (or most) but at least those that appreciate what I am trying to accomplish let me know. I posted two stories yesterday, one seems to be a hit, and the other is moving up the hit list at a leisurely pace (like usual). But I love the fact that people comment and seem to care, some comments are off base, but at least that shows an interest.

I posted Growing Up Jenny on another site, and it is languishing, and it only goes to show what we actually have here. Not only do I get comments on my stories and Kudos (which i unfortunately found out I don't actually get boxes of the granola treat in the mail) but also have contact with people off site too. I got friends from here that I've met in real life (patty) and who contact me on facebook. I get private messages all the time and have found a very close friend in Erin, who really does need to adopt me.

I just hope everyone realizes what a great thing we have on Big Closet, and I hope that we never lose that.

Okay, John, I will now start typing the next chapter of Finding Jenny.

A few other reasons...

Our stories usually have the transformee as the protagonist (as opposed to casting the antagonist as the protagonist, if you know what I mean...)

On the whole, we don't tend to do forced fem / sexual slavery (I don't think we've had anything since Only a Baby Machine, and before then there was a gap since the last posted tales from Vickie Tern / StacyInLove).

Having comments directly below each chapter (as opposed to hiding away elsewhere) helps, as does the clear navigation between chapters - not to mention between stories in the same universe, other works by the same author etc.

On the rare occasions there's nothing left to read of interest on the front page, there's a multi-category search - so you can search on multiple categories simultaneously.

Blogs! Topic drift! Filks! A link to Skin Horse!

Characters spend 90% of their tales having a life (or at least attempting to survive!), as opposed to spending 90% of their tales engaged in "bedroom aerobics".

We're not FictionMania. (OK, that's been covered by almost everything else, but worth stating again!)

Then hopefully in a few months time, once Erin's recovered from the past few hectic months worth of StarStuff-related activities and upgrading Drupal (plus assuming Daniel's also available then!)...
Quillian! Sam Valentine! :)

Indeed, I didn't even know

Indeed, I didn't even know about TGstorytime until someone in Morpheus' yahoo group suggested I post my first story here. I've come to prefer this site over Fictionmania. Mostly because fictionmania is in drastic need of a major overhaul.

There's also Joe Six Pack's TGstorytime. Which is a pretty good site, but it doesn't have a very large community and I've only received two reviews there.

Edit: Crap, I meant to reply to the original post.

This site does rock...

I've been a fan of Fictionmania for years, and read many great stories there, lots of great memories... I'll always be fond of that. But when the place went down for a long while the other year, I think it lost a lot of its best authors and readers. Even since coming back up, I've noticed it it steadily going downhill, especially lately. Now it seems too many of the stories are nasty femdom/slavery stories or forced fem stories or what I call SissyFic (God, I hate that word, sissy). As for "bedroom aerobics", a little bit sometimes is nice, but I like stories with actual... STORY to them. I'll still keep going to Fictionmania to see what's new, and sometimes there's a gem amongst the stuff listed above...

I haven't been participating here long, but already it's become my favorite story site. As Katie said, this site has a great atmosphere, nice folks in charge, easy to use site navigation, great authors writing great stories, and nice fellow readers to interact with.

Cheers to us all!

Lisa

Kudos... Kudos is a granola treat?

I thought Kudos were those stuffed inch long tubular pretzel snacks? Can't decide if I like the cheese filled ones or the pizza ones better.

Combo's. I agree on the flavors you picked as well. The zesty nacho isn't bad either. Now I want some.

I also agree on the site. I forget how I found it. I do believe that the first story I found was the Shoes story, about Brianna (I think that was her name. Forgot who wrote it though) And then I found the reluctant girlfriend. It took me a little time to get the nerve just to come up with a story, but I am thnakful for how nice the people here are.

I originally wound up here...

By googling for a story continuation from Sapphire's. That was over a year ago, was lurking until this summer, when I decided to sign up after Pattengale started developing in my head. Started commenting on stories, then started posting chapters of my own as I wrote them.

I do agree, this is one of the best sites for free fiction sharing online of any sort, period. Excellent community, great staff, and some of the best stories I've read recently, and this is even counting professionally published work!

Why this site rocks !!!

I have also checked out other websites and used to be a fan of storysite but haven't seem all that much happening there in long time. I tend to spend most of my time here at big closet and have enjoyed sharing my stories and reading what other authors have posted and like others have said in there are a lot of supportive people here that are willing to help out especially when it comes to new authors who need a hand getting started.

One thing that I love about coming here is there's always something new to read. I find with other sites it takes much longer to find the kinds of stories that you want to read, as for myself I like long stories that might take forever to read but are well worth it.

When I come to being able to leave comments. It really help especially when I am at a standstill and trying to figure out where to take the story next and more times then not I get good ideas just from my reading what others have had plenty of laughs to when it comes to some of the comments that I have read. All I can say is keep up the good work Erin you have created a great place here.

I'm most impressed by the

I'm most impressed by the caring atmosphere here, how nice people are. And while some stories have warnings attached, they do have warnings attached! There are a wide variety of stories, yet certain sub-genres are on the whole avoided, which I'm happy about.

I think I found this site via the Crystal Hall, but I'm not 100% certain of that. I do know that I really started to hang out here in the aftermath of Bob's death, while the Crystal Hall was down, and that I've come across a lot of good stories, and met nice people.
