Many thanks and hugs to all of you kind people who have supported my first 300 book sales. Since April I have now sold 310 books, and they keep selling. My aim, if that's okay with you guys, is to settle down into a routine that doesn't involve work, so I can actually make money from my writing and that means I can spend so much more time writing.

Not content with kindle

So again, I am declining paying for anything. For me No DRM.

I'm looking for an alternative to Kindle..

... that is as easy to publish and simple to pay the royalties. Lulu may be one answer, and so might Alkido or even Wattpad. Any suggestions always welcome.

I hope to also get some done in good old fashioned paper.

The different eBook readers

The different eBook readers support a number of different formats, some with copy protection and some without, i.e. pdf.

The Kindle supports unprotected Microsoft Word (DOC, DOCX), PDF, HTML, TXT, RTF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, PRC and MOBI files.

The Kobo supports; Books: EPUB, PDF and MOBI; Documents: PDF; Images: JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP and TIFF; Text: TXT, HTML and RTF;
Comic Books: CBZ and CBR.

A publisher can advise you.

There are free and inexpensive pdf drivers that let you print your doc from your WP to a pdf file.

You don't need a Kindle to read Kindle publications. There's free download at Amazon that allows reading on an IBM clone PC as well as (I think) an Apple PC.

btw DRM? Ah, just Googled it, Digital Rights Management. I hate these random TLAs
