i don't have a clue, and never have. all i know is i really enjoy this genre, especially the science fiction and full genenetic changes. my favorites currently are the centerverse, randalynn's firefly fan fic, duty honor country family, not to mention just about anything by julie o and bob arnold.
while i am so straight, i squeek, there is a part of me that is currious about feelings that i have concerning gender. i sometimes jokingly say that i am so straight as a male that i am probably lesbian. years ago i found out that my brother was gay, so, i had to learn to accept and understand, or lose a brother. while I grew to understand and accept my brother and his partners, i really never gained an understanding of the attraction of a male male relationship. while my brother was a special, bright and artistic man, and the two long term relationships he had were with very decent and loving men, i couldn't deal with the sexual aspects of their relationships, kinda like kids don't like to deal with the concept of their parents having sex. socialising with them and their friends was always easy and non threatening.
i am a geek, who published his first, (and only), book of poetry before the age of twenty one; who plays dungeons and dragons and loves science fiction. when playing ad&d, i generally play female characters, because i find women more interesting and challenging to play. let's face it, i just like women better than i like men. most of my dearest and closest friends have been women, both hetero and lesbian or bi; always strong, independent and with attitude. redman

Welcome to the club!
First and foremost, it's cool. I doubt that anyone here has it all sussed out. When all is said and done, you are the one who defines who you are. Don't worry too much about it.
I sometimes mention to friends that while I played the part of a man for half a century, I really don't understand them. No biggie.
And just because you relate better with one gender than the others doesn't mean that you would prefer to express yourself that way.
Confused? Yeah, me, too. But that's how things are. Being comfortable enough to merely ask the question puts you light years ahead of most.
Any chance of seeing any of your poetry?
