In one of my recent stories, The Redhead and the PM, I used The Goring Hotel as one of the early settings. I had no idea at the time that Kate Middleton and family would be using it for their operating location before the wedding later this year. The owner of the hotel mentioned to me that The Queen Mother was attending an affair there and mentioned to him that the hotel was "rather convenient" to Buckingham Palace. It is a great place, probably one of the best hotels in London if not in the world. I certainly couldn't afford to stay there at 375 Pounds and more a night, but for the courtesy of the management. If any of the readers here can afford $500 plus a night and are planning on staying in London, the hotel is worth it. The convenience to transportation and just being able to walk to many important places is great. If you read my story, you will find a fairly accurate description of the areas accessible from there. Louise Anne made sure I had it right.

London accommodation.
Central London is actually quite small and walking between tourist destinations isn't difficult. Being poverty stricken pensioners we usually stay at the YHA hostel across the road from St Pancras Station (and the British Library) and find short bus rides and walking gets us where we want to go.
Mind you, if it wasn't for the Science and Natural History Museums and the National Gallery I wouldn't set foot in the place.
