I received an answer to an email I wrote my neurologist.

Here's how I finished my e-mail:

...with the vertigo, I guess I'm just looking for answers, even if the answer is, "too soon to tell," or "we'll change your meds," or something else. I'm sure you understand my concern, even if it may be alarmist at this moment. I did say to some friends of mine online, that even with the tremors and PTSD, that I still had a better year than the NJ Nets. Write back if you can, even if it's to say, see you on the 10th.

And here's his reply in part:

I’m actually at home, recovering from a bad flu and laser eye surgery, coincidentally occurring at the same time.

It is extremely unlikely you have Parkinson’s disease. Less chance than the Nets have at winning the trophy next year.

PTSD is a mysterious thing. People may be consciously ‘over it’, yet subconsciously still be bothered that things either happened, or that it was allowed to happen. That sense of injustice is just part of the things that are tough get over, and I don’t expect it to go away that quickly. You are on the right track. You are in a rebuilding phase. It’s just too bad you don’t get good draft picks because of it.

So a relief with challenges still ahead learning to compensate for some things that aren't going to get worse, but will not be getting better. Thanks for the support and prayers and love. Andrea

That is nice...

And shows a sense of humor, on both parts. Something that I think is probably helpful.

It IS easy to self diagnose - with all the information that's available these days. My daughter came up with some reasonable ailments... ALL of which were wrong. Turned out to be a Vitamin-B deficiency. Now, with her Iron deficiency the doc's checking for some things that might be causing them. That said, the doc also told her that just based on her symptoms and family history, her self diagnoses weren't unreasonable. In this case the wrong diagnosis would have made her sicker!

Best of luck to you!
Ann
