There are lots of things to say about Afghanistan's plains, but I think Metallica has done something really important here and I wanted to share the video with yawl.
I might write a story to go with this, but honestly, I think anything I might add would be a pitiful effort beside the story they tell. This is something worthy of Kipling.

I didn't expect what I got...
I tried to share this video with some friends. Daniel(a ground pounder in Vietnam) wouldn't look at the screen. Wayne (A Gulf War vet) broke down crying.
In general, the reaction I got was very hostile and angry. The basic consensus was("Why the hell are you showing us something so godawful?")
The only thing I could say was "Because it matters, and as unpleasant as it might be, it is a piece of truth that you need to deal with."
Nobody liked that answer.
