Edeyn Corey Haim found dead at 38, 11 March 2010...

Wow. I grew up watching the Coreys in just about everything. The Lost Boys. License to Drive. Dream A Little Dream.

... and of course the string of endless B (and C) flicks. It's kind of like a part of the 1980s just died for me. I know he grew up to be a drug addict, but... come on.

Video Story

I think we all have icons from our childhood that mean something to us, then we forget about them... and then we hear they have died. The Coreys were with me from The Goonies -- well, Feldman was, anyway. Both of them were only three to four years older than me, and any death is sad.

Next time you watch a movie with either of them in it, remember them as they were in the 1980s -- young, strong, and ready to conquer the world. They remained best friends since they were little kids, and that's hard to do in Hollywood, even for those that aren't really on the A, B, C, or even D-list anymore, so ... keep Corey Feldman in your thoughts and think for a moment on something that Corey Haim was in that made you smile, laugh, or even cry in a good way.

Wasn't it Jim Henson who said, "Without faith, I am nothing," after all? No, wait, that was God... Sorry, common mistake to make...

...gone all too soon. This was the first thing I thought of, even with the long history, the lifelong friendship with Corey Feldman...Lost Boys. But this came to mind because it actually was the first movie I saw with him, having slept through the 80's in a way. And I suppose this is almost appropriate considering, yes? God bless him.

I liked the answer film

better, actually... "Just One of the Guys" -- starring nobodys... and a much better and more believable plot.

The Coreys were in 8 films together and numerous other non-film projects -- and that doesn't count the movies and projects they had that the other had a cameo in... best friends despite everything that happened all their lives.
