I'm feeling hugely better after sleeping a great large amount, thanks to everyone who inquired.
I've got some catchup tasks to do on the site and there may be a couple of MAJOR changes in the planning ahead.
I can't upload the new Beastly Thoughts before I go, so it will be late which is a pity since it's a Mother's Day special but it will be up tomorrow afternoon, probably.

Dial up
I've got dial-up here at Mom's. Good enough to browse the web but kinda slow for maintenance work. How many people are putting up with accessing the site over dial-up?

I'm on dial-up, when ever I start feeling sorry for myself, I just remember the 300 baud modem on my trusty old Commodore 64. Makes 56k look pretty darn good! :)

Dial Up Rocks!
I may not be a technophobe -- I'm doing this on a three year old Pentium 4HT -- but being, ahum ... cough .. "served" by SBC/IT&T and Warner Cable, high speed access is needlessly expensive, slow for high speed and unreliable. It makes one long to be a Ludite; that's being charitable.
Me, POTS -- Plain Old Telephone --, and my V92 dialup are fine, except for the too many bells and whistles web pages. It would be nice for those MINOR 20 to 50meg Microsoft critical security updates, graphics heavy stories, and video but I'm getting by as it is.
Have a great Mother's day, this is my first since mine passed and I miss her. Dad's into his third week of diving all over western Europe by himself. Dad, you're a loonie! Hey, he's 79, got to go while you still can. Thank Ghod they did go to some of Europe and Hawaii before she got ill.
