30 days remain, before I arrive at the Southern Comfort Conference, the biggest TG convention in the world, and yet...

The conference almost pales in my mind, when compared with the excitement of meeting some people I've only talked to on skype, or in chatrooms. And THAT pales in comparison to what might be the most important thing, to me. What happens at the convention, the person I will meet, to see if there can be anything between us, will determine if I leave the convention still alone, or have the chance of beginning something that may very well lead to the two of us sharing the rest of our lives, together.

Additionally, I will be meeting my nephew and his wife, for the very first time since I started living as Cathy, for dinner. What pressure?

Furthermore, Holly, Gwen, Grover and I will be representing you all, and Top Shelf, and we want to do you credit. I plan to blog from the conference, day by day, if I can. We're going to have matching t-shirts with our names, and the Top Shelf logo, as well as the URL for the site. White shirts, with pink print, of course. *giggle*

This is going to be my first REAL vacation in over 30 years, and the first time to be over 200 miles from home, and my own little comfort zone. Am I nervous? Hell yes! But my anticipation overrides my nervousness. What I can gain from this experience, far exceeds any monetary costs I will incur.

I hope, we hope, that we will represent all of you well. If you are attending, look for us. We won't be hard to spot! *giggle* If I can, I will be uploading pics from the convention as well.

Hugs 'n love,
Catherine Linda Michel

One question though... Why not pink shirts, with white print?

Where you can fool around like you want to and most you get is some bemused good ribbing!

There are several reasons we will/can not use white print.

1. In making Tee Shirt transfers, the print is printed by ink jet onto a transparent substrate, and I do not know of any ink jet or other home printer that prints with white ink,.

2. I will be printing the transfers here before flying to Atlanta, and we will iron them on there. None of us want to spend as much money as it would cost for custom silk screening of just a few tops.

3. If we did have pastel pink tops, I could use a darker pink or some other darker printable color for the print, but it is harder to get identical or near identical pink shirts at home before we leave so we can make sure we have the right sizes.

It's nice to be important, but it's more important to be nice.

Conferences are good

... at least most of them. And specially interesting is to meet other persons who have the same interests. Been to many conferences in my hobby (Ham-radio) and 2005, 07 and 09 for transexualism. I really learned a lot amd made many new friends. I wish you many good days and do make Atlanta TS-friendly as the next time the WPATH will meet (2011) it will be in Atlanta!
Happy travelling!
