Another month, another STORY CHALLENGE! And for May, we've got something super fun for you all:
Concept: Everyone loves comic books, right? And the first Saturday in May is Free Comic Book Day! Your challenge? Write a story that involves comic books in some way. Is your protagonist a collector, or a casual enjoyer? Or perhaps they're the star of their own comic book, or attending a convention? Explore the possibilities!
Story length: Any, single- or multi-part stories welcome.
Rules: Stories must include at least one trans character in a major role. Participants may enter any number of stories they desire into the challenge. Stories must be original pieces written for the challenge and, if fanfic or a spinoff of another series, should be able to stand on their own.
Deadline: May 30th.
A contest tag will be available for entries in this challenge starting May 1st. However, keep in mind that this is a challenge, NOT a contest: as such, there will be no judging of stories or prizes given out for entries. This is all just for fun, and I hope to see lots of great ideas from folks.
Get those thinking caps on, and don't forget that the April challenge is still going as well! Heck, feel free to combine ideas from the two if you really want, for an extra special BCTS No Prize!

Oddly enough...
Some of us older gals might have been members of the Mighty Marvel Marching Society back in the last century. It was a snail-mail Marvel Comics club that occasionally offered contests with NO-Prizes.

Funny, I was cleaning my room when I found some scribbled notes
for a story called STILL FLAKEY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS
about Robert Crumb's cozmik charlatan-guru character

trying to convince his hopelessly worrisome and neurotic friend/victim FLAKEY FOONT

and that what he really needs is to become a whole new person.
"What do you think I've been tryin' to do?!!" whines Flakey.
But Mr. Natural has a much more radical change in mind.
Flakey is unsure but he's tried everything else, so he accompanies
Mr. Natural to the Mall, to the shop of a different bearded wizard in a ratty robe,
to be transformed into a voluptuous busty blonde bimbo
(with stout legs + a huge ass, because it's Crumb after all)

I think that covers all the bases. It's comix
and bimbofication is a tried n' true TG transformation trope...
But does anyone even remember Mr. NaturaL?

but from those weird kinds of comix I use to
collect as a teen, back in the halcyon days

Hmmm...would a comic/graphic novel that featured a tg character that had comics as a component qualify? Would that be too meta? :)
