I was wondering if there is a way to post a link to a story of mine that is on a different site so that people will see it?
Or do I need to copy the story onto BCTS?
I think that if I just post the link in my blog most people won't even notice it.

Posting a link
You wouldn't be the first to post links to other sites to see a story. It's easy to do. Simply copy the URL and past it in to the text of your blog. Or you can go to "Add A Story" and write a short teaser for the story and then paste the URL there. That will make it appear on BCTS front page,.
Here's a link to one of mine available for ereaders that I haven't posted on this site.

Here's another to my author page on Smashwords.

StoryLink: for offsite stories.
Go to the menu in the right column below the Hatbox. Choose Create Content. A menu page will appear. Choose StoryLink. Fill in the fields on the form and post. StoryLinks are listed among Stories for most purposes but are treated as blogs for others.

Relax. You might be thinking/trying "too hard" ...
I routinely post links to outside sites in my comments. The simplest method seems to be: open the 'target site' in a new tab. In that tab, navigate to where you want to be, then (as others have said) copy the URL/address from the very top line in the 'target' tab.
Here's one I post routinely, when I think it will be of benefit. Doing what I just said, I paste in:
https://www.pcrm.org/health-topics/diabetes.
Then I Preview my comment, and make sure the link works like I want it to. It will have that tiny little 'square-arrow' symbol).

Getting on the Front Page (in the center panel, like a story) is beyond what I know, Sorry.

Preview and proofread, edit until happy, then Save it.
