Please think about what BCTS is worth to you.

When I sign into BCTS, the back of my mind whispers "checking up on friends".

Happy sniffles from well over half the stories that I/you read? (Me)

Will these ratty old shoes hold out till Social Security Pay Day? (Me)

A lot of us here have been reading for years or decades. (Me, only years.) And some have been writing for years to a decade-plus.

Deferring saving up to attend a vegan fest (that's not until October)? (Me)
You: Do you really need to buy expensive and dangerous-to-you-and-everything meat, dairy, eggs? https://www.pcrm.org/vegankickstart. (All free.)

A once a day or week trip to Starring $Bucks coffee? (Not me) I'm doing home-brew. The whole 'jug' of ground coffee cost me less than would one $Bucks coffee.

A dinner with friends at that fancy-dancy restaurant? Grabbing/making some sandwiches and picnicking in a park might be way more fun. Me? Potluck picnic with friends in a park tomorrow (from when I'm typing this).

There's gotta be some magazines you subscribe to and never read. Do you need to buy one more book that will choke to death from dust on your nightstand? >Lending Libraries.<

Good for you and everybody:

- 'Bundle up' your trips. A good GPS will optimize your route. Less time driving and gas/petrol. Of course you can override GPS suggestions. Example: On a multi-stop shopping trip, I buy the must-stay-chilled stuff at last stop, optimize the rest of the route. And when you take a wrong turn, a GPS guides you back on track.

- See if can arrange with your electricity company to charge you lower rates in off-peak hours (and then shift usage accordingly). Reduce your usage and bill anyways. Shift usage off peak anyways. Then maybe they don't have to fire up the really expensive peak generators and charge everybody more.

But BCTS is asking for money every month ...

Yes.

But so do your cable/internet provider, fuel (home and car), phone, health insurance, rent/mortgage, food store ...

And they don't ask. It's demand or consequences.

Thanks much!
