Canada carries out a census every 10 years. In the last census, in 2021, they asked questions about 'gender' covering both transgender and non-binary people. The data has now been compiled and released.

The United States' previous administration deliberately blocked LGBTQ questions from the census in 2020. The questions are supposed to be included in the next census in 2030. But I wouldn't bet the farm on that.

it will depend on what political party is in power at the time.
