As it could be upsetting to some.
Some time back, I posted about having a mole removed from my back and finding out it was melanoma. So, after seeing an oncological surgeon, she sent me for a PET scan. My PET scan came back negative, which was of course great news - but there was of course the fact that my mole still tested out as stage four melanoma. After the PET scan, this was reclassed to stage three based on the results of the scan.
However, due to the fact that the growth was vertical, the oncologist was worried about how deep it went - so she scheduled me for surgery. First, my back was injected with radioactive dye which was then tracked to see which lymph nodes were involved - which turned out to be the right side of my neck. Then I was off to the operating room, and two and a half hours later, she had removed two lymph nodes from my neck, and about a four inch diameter section of my back three levels of tissue deep. My back was pulled back together and sewn up, leaving about a six or seven inch incision on my back - see the photo.
Now I have to wait for the pathology results on the tissue and the lymph nodes - which hopefully comes back negative as well. If that happens, then it gets reclassed as stage two, and I simply have to be checked every three months for at least the next two years for more melanoma. Oh yeah, and slather on sun block whenever I am outside.
If it comes back positive, then we move on to more treatment.

Big hugs
I really hope that the new pathology results come back negative, it sounds like you've been through enough already and I really wish that I could be there to help you through this. My heart and thoughts are with you though and I wish you speedy and total recovery. You've been such a good friend to me and many others here and I've been worried for you since you gave me the last update. Please get plenty of rest and follow any doctors orders.
*big (but gentle) hugs*

Don't take me too seriously. I'm just kitten around. :3
Crosses fingers
Amethyst said it best so I will say 'like she says'
I had a black mole-like looking thing remove from my foot but that is a weird spot as I never ever get sun exposure on my foot my entire life as I cannot wear sandals due to flat feet.
A good doctor would do his due dilligence by checking all such growths and he did so before and after surgically removing said growth.
It was negative so not all black growths are carcinoma.
Thankfully I have not had any real serious sun exposure since my twenties and I have very few freckles and stuff which is a good sign as freckles are a sign of sun damage.
I would recommend heavily freckled folks from sun exposure have regular exams of their skin to catch any such thing really early.
Best wishes
Sorry to read about what has occurred and of your medical hardships.
I will be wishing for the best and hope that good news and a good outcome happens for you.
Good Luck!

Luck
Is a relative thing. Obviously getting the melanoma in the first place is not good, but the pic of the surgery performed on your back actually looks encouraging.
If you need further treatment, which I suspect you will, then modern immunology has great success in treating melanomas. It is an order of magnitude better than chemotherapy and radiology.
It can achieve complete remission in the vast majority of cases.
That's when I reckon your luck will be good.
Best luck
I hope all works out for you.
I went to dermatologist about three weeks ago for the first time ever about some spots on my face and ear. A biopsy was taken and they were deemed precancerous and needed treating. Tuesday they did a blue light treatment on my face and next week will do it to my arms. I was told to stay out of sun for 48 hours which expire today. My face feels worse than the worst kind of sunburn I've ever had but if it helps and prevents skin cancer, I'll endure the aftereffects.

Please read this over, carefully. Read it again:

I think you will have the same conclusion as I do:
Dairy (in all forms) is a cluster-F$$K of health problems.
Dairy has multiple ways of 'trying' to create new cancers, and to maintain and feed current cancers. Including (and especially), cancers of the prostate and breast.
Please, very please, get off of all dairy: milk of all types, all cheeses, yogurts, whey (often in protein supplements), lactose-free, Kefir, ... All dairy.
