This is the week that I have to take care of all the myriad things that you must take care of after moving. Register to vote, change of address, find a physician, scope out where the good local shopping is, follow the nose to the best local food...

So.

Dear Diary will be back next Sunday (August 10) -- and hopefully I will then or soon after continue with Pen Pals, Sk8r Grrls, Scenes of Hope, and some of my other projects.

Oh, and on the 11th of August I'll be officially older.

Happy B-day

erin's picture

Mine's Tuesday and there's a lot more of us who have b-days just passed or immediately in the future. July August and September are the most popular birthday months in the northern hemisphere. :) About 1/3 of all b-days are in 1/4 of the year.

Hugs,
Erin

Good Luck With The Sort-Out

The moving bit is relatively easy. The bit you've got to do now is always a real pain in my book, so I hope the supermarket is just across the road and the post-office is next door, etc. etc.
And Happy Birthday,
Hugs,
Joanne

Slower isn't better

It sounds like your move several states away is doing better than my move of only thirty miles. I thought I'd take advantage of the fact that I don't have to hurry to get out of the old place by moving a little bit at a time, but it still seems really overwhelming. My movers aren't scheduled until a couple days after your birthday (a week before mine), and they charge by the hour so I've been trying to get everything small enough to fit in a car moved ahead of time. I've been bringing a carload to work every day and dropping it at the new house, and it's been taking forever! I have too much stuff and it's still not all packed. Tomorrow I'm getting my car inspected so I can transfer the registration to the new address. I need to talk to the cable company to get my internet set up in the new place, or I'll lose my BigCloset lifeline. Yesterday, I finally found some curtains that I liked, and I'm still worn out from getting some new furniture on Saturday. (My new space is bigger than my old space, so I needed a bunch of things to fill it.) Setting up a new house is a heck of a lot of work!

You sound busy...

I'm officially older now, than I was yesterday as well, but I don't have to admit it to everyone. That doesn't happen until next spring. :-) Hmmmm. Do I really have to admit it then either? AARP seems to think this last spring was a good time for us to get to know each other. *sighs*

P.S. Happy Birthday to you (and any others celebrating said anniversary).
