Need Help Finding a Story !!!

Looking for a story, I looked up Sarah Lynn's " Boys' School " and read it, followed by " The Unicorn's Gift ".
While reading " The Unicorn's Gift ", I was reminded of another similar story in which the main character becomes a healer, then later goes off at the request of the local noble or king to help fight a plague.

Sorry I don't remember the name of the story but it sounds like an anime I watch called Snow White With the Red Hair.

It was a story here on BCTS, and MC was magically transformed (though I cant remember if there was any question of MC other characters questioning their gender like in "The Unicorn's Gift", was also set in a medieval type time period.
The author also may have seen the anime you mentioned EoF

Eric hit the right story with Elsbeth's The Sacrificial Boy, I was deliberately unclear as I couldn't be certain of the full details of the story or that I was not mixing in details of other stories in my recollections.
I was half sure that the tale was incomplete but didn't add that in the original request for help, but wow what a place for a cliff hanger

I now know after reading the 3 stories that were suggested that I was mixing up story plots I now know there were at least 4 as I was recollecting all three
