Hi BCTS Family!

In case you don't know me, I'm Jamie. I work behind the scenes here, helping Erin, Piper, Cat and everyone else keep this wonderful place running as smoothly as our little team can. You all have been absolutely wonderful to us over the last few years I've been working here, and I wanted to say thank you.

Now for the topic of this blog. I just got the phone call a few days ago that I am at the top of the list to work with a great service dog trainer in my area. I spoke with her some, and she recommended a specific Poodle breeder.

My goodness, purebred, show and working class Poodles are freaking expensive! The pup will be $3k total, and I have until March 15th to come up with it, and I need $700 ASAP. Now, I'm not asking you guys to learn how to print money or anything, but any spare change will help a lot. I have a few under the table gigs coming up in the next few weeks that will be going toward this as well.

I am also asking for any fundraising ideas, tips or help you guys might be able to offer, as well as sharing my fundraising campaign with as many people as you possibly can. As a family, I know we can do this!

Oh, and there's a video of cute puppies at this link too, hehe

I have to say this

I have to say this

I have a step mom in a way and she has been training dogs for 50 years and I can say this...? Why that dog and that breeder and a show winner that costs 3000$ when she has been doing the same with border collies or reg collies or great danes or a dozen breeds or mutts and rescued ones at that for near nothing?

I don't pretend to know the relationship you have with this person ...but suggesting 3000$ for an untrained dog...then add training on top of that?
strange advice at best IMHO

It is strange

I agree, unless there is something special about them that makes them a clear cut above other choices I would say save your money for other things you will need.

Thank you

You guys are both so right. I was overwhelmed by excitement, so I took everything the trainer said as if she were a Goddess.

I've done my own research and have found more than appropriate pups for the 1500 range, which I will be able to afford quite soon hopefully, with just a little bit of help. I am adjusting my GoFundMe too once my computer charges some.
